I agree with Stu. DON'T trade down at #9! Unless everything goes wrong for us in the top 8, there should still be a DE/edge pick worth taking (several candidates), and maybe a OT (Ekwanu) or CB (Gardner). Don't get too cute with it. We fans haven't been able to drool over a top 10 pick in so long.

I agree with every point you make Kenneth. Not just saying that to agree with you. If I was P & J, I would follow your guidelines almost to a tee. Pick #9, if there is an excellent LT or Edge to pick at #9, DON'T trade down. Pick the game changing talent at one of those 2 positions.

You got me rethinking the value I have placed on T. Walker/J. Davis...hmmm. I very much agree about the QB situation.

I think you nailed, particularly with regard to QB. Wait until next year, substantially better QB class.

First, don't worry about being unpopular. You can't create change if you surround yourself with like-minded people. Second, my only draft don'ts would be no TE's or WR's early. It's a deep draft for pass catchers and we have more immediate needs.

I mostly agree with the four don'ts. I don't agree that Pete is obsessed with a run first offense. He wants decent time of possession, enough running to wear down the opposition defense for the fourth quarter, and a threat that prevents the two high defense.

The question for Pete is who can tilt the field. It wouldn't surprise me to see us move up to get Kenneth Walker III. In 2021 Walker had:

• Most yards after contact (1,168)

• Most forced missed tackles (89)

• Best Elusiveness rating on PFF (147.5)

• 2nd Most rush yards (1,646)

Also he has a great first name.

The more I study, the greater my desire becomes for them to take a left tackle. Jermain Johnson being available at nine is unlikely and he's the only one of the group that outweighs my desire for a LT. After Cross and Penning the combination of college production and athletic talent drops precipitiously. Neal, Cross, and Penning are my targets and we might be able to trade down and still get one of those three. That would still leave a number of good candidates for edge at 40, 41.

Daniel Jeremiah said on 710 recently that Skyy Moore reminded him of a faster Golden Tate. That would be a nice compliment to DK. Would you rather have Skyy Moore or a right tackle in the second round?

On my list, the Seahawks top priority needs, first on the list OT and second would be a DT or NT. I hope they use their first round pick to fill one of those spots. From all the chatter I hear (online) the past week, it sounds like several teams are considering trading down from their first round spot. I just hope the Seahawks aren't one of those teams. They need several impact players this year

I get tired of the "trade down" game the Seahawks always use. It's like going to Walmart to end up with 3x as much crap furniture instead of going out and picking a quality piece at a furniture store. There's huge value in having a game changer instead of three mediocre players. This is particularly true since the Seahawks have a very shaky track record in drafting since 2012. More picks doesn't translate to more good players.

Don't draft QB till 2033. If Gardner or Thibideax are there run up to the podium and draft them. Tackle Lucas in the 3rd would be a sleeper as would QB Strong he's best Qb in this draft. Get LB. and running back later rounds

I would love for the Hawks to take Sauce, if he falls to them. He'd pair up great with brown and Jones.

I believe that they should use their 1st top 10 pick in over a decade to draft a LT and if he is as good or better than Russell Okung then I see that as a success. I would use #40 and #41 to draft EDGE and CB and then the rest of the draft to go LB C WR RB and kicker!!!

Looking at Seattle's investment @ safety, where they sit right now at receiver, their pass rush numbers last year, their uncertainty at RB and how that effects their scheme, their missing tackle positions; QB is not their biggest concern. I tend to side with what Rob Staton implied some weeks back that Seattle should focus on their defense this draft with impact players with their first two picks and adding a tackle with the 3rd for the offense. Seattle needs to find some players that might contribute this year at Edge, corner and LB. Adding a RB in round 3 would be good and then looking at DT and WR (which I understand WR is pretty deep this year). I 've even heard it said their might even be a second chance to add to the edge in the later rounds. A kicker in round 5 perhaps. Seattle can devote next years draft to QB, if they think they need to go there. Another note about O-Line. Joe Thomas thinks this is a good year for O-Line but more developmental talent in the later rounds. I think drafting an impact edge guy or even a corner at #9 might be the smart move. Seattle may be able to trade down and still get a good edge or corner later in the first and add another pick say in the 3rd or 4th round depending on who their trade partner is. Seattle can add Brown or Fisher this year after the draft and may even find some O-line surprises in the UDFA if the scouts are doing their job as future projects. Seattle will have some great draft capitol next year and I understand some pretty good cap room to build the offense. No one seems to think that Lock can make a difference. I would like to see what Walden and the new offensive line coach can do along with a running scheme and a shorter passing to help Lock.

I'm wondering is Lock is really as bad as billed or their is just some disfunction in Denver who has never done well with drafted QB's other than Elway. Either way, Seattle is going to need the next two (3) years to rebuild with all the holes and lack of depth. Seattle did well in 2010-12 in the later rounds with draft picks who were the foundation of the overall team especially defense. Let's hope their scouting team has done their homework the next two years and the right coaches are in place which I think is more the case this year than for some time.

I agree with Stu too. And for God's sake, don't reach. Pete and John sometimes seem to live in a world of their own. It's fine to rate people differently than the scouting services but a team needs to have a sense of what others are likely thinking because value is super important.

It's easy to point at guys like George Kittle, who the Seahawks claim they were about to pick until the 49ers grabbed him out from under them, but he was drafted around 150. So even if you think he's likely to be a superstar, don't take him at 9 or 40 or 41.

I'd be fine with trading down if all players they like at premium positions are gone and they just love a bunch of players in the 20-35 range (and thus can get two picks over one). But we so rarely get draft slots like this and I have to admit it would make me cringe a little. I did an exercise where I listed the top 10 players I'd like for us to draft and then pretended everything was disastrous and the first 8 were all off the board -and still had Stingley and Jameson Williams left to pick from.

I still really like JDs measurables. I also have to admit that I will be holding my breath until someone takes him.
