I’m totally new to enjoying football and wanted to just thank you for such a great blog. I look forward to learning from every post. I’m from

Europe and went to Seattle for a high school exchange program in mid 90ties and fell in love with baseball and Ms. I got into NFL about two seasons ago and of course am a seahawks fan! I got so much to learn about this game and this is a fantastic source!

Cool I knew nothing of EJ Perry thanks. I think a look at his hi lights is in order. From what I have read Drew Lock would be the highest rated QB in this class. Proving your point he was a 2nd rounder. It's a Longshot that Drew every becomes a top 12 NFL quarterback but there is a chance. I like most of what Pete Carroll does, one thing that might be a check in the not good box is his huge emphasis on turn overs. No coach wants turn overs, I think Pete needs to ease off a little so he doesn't handcuff his quarterback. Not all turnovers are created equal. Victoria Chris

Remember ... 2010, with two 1st round draft picks - many pundits predicted Seahawks would draft Jimmy Clausen and Taylor Mays?

* relational stories of Pete recruiting Jimmy (but he chose Notre Dame)

* Jimmy went to Panthers and 6 years later they were in the Super Bowl (due to Cam Newton)

* Taylor was a quality athlete who hung on in NFL on special teams.

* Okung & ET were quality, foundational choices - expect the same this year!

My point is, like Seaside's, pundits need QBs for headlines, their ideas don't always resemble reality.

Coincidentally, we got the extra pick from Denver, thanks to a Ruskell* trade.

* spelled really close to Russell

The most valuable QB in the top ten will be the one any other team than the Seahawks take. In fact, any position other than LT and DE helps the Hawks. One scenario is that the Washington Commanders fall in love with a QB and trade with Seattle and trade their 1st(11) and 2nd(47) for Seattle's 1st(9) and third(47). We still get our premium LT and three picks in the 40s.

Here's a blockbuster trade for you all. Everyone knows Philly isn't sold on Jalen Hurts. Philly falls in love with the local boy Pickett whom Seattle is reportedly also enamored with (not really). Seattle trades the 9th pick and DK Metcalf for the 15th, 16th, and 19th pick. Why? Because we are about to give DK a boatload of money. Of the teams that need a LT, only the Texans draft after nine an before 15 therefore Penning or Rainman should be there at 15. With 16 and 19 we take the best DE, WR, or CBs left on the board (and there is good depth on all three)... all before picks at 41 and 42. Our core is secured and on rookie contracts. Ba Zinga!
