Cross seems like the best value remaining in this scenario and does fill a big need, even if his collegiate experience doesn't stand out as an ideal match for a run-oriented offense. If he's not their guy, I hope they can find a QB/WR needy team that wants to trade up. At this point in the draft, we are probably going to see the top WRs start coming off the board (and a QB or 2). I wouldn't be upset to see them take Penning or Karlaftis, but they can likely get more value from this pick with a trade.

I don't know what they should do, as I am keenly aware that they know way more than I do about everything having to do with talent evaluations, roster building, who's coming on, who's going down, all of it.

What I am saying is that I read damn near everything you post here, don't comment hardly at all, but just really appreciate the energy, passion, and what I'd call your levelheadedness in regards to your own opinion of what you write. I don't agree with your takes sometimes, but I do appreciate being able to read them. Thanks, Kenneth.

I'd be all in on Charles Cross. Not that I have any confidence Pete and John will do it. But, for Christ sake, this kid drips with talent and he can lean to run block. If he's available and they don't take him, I think they'll likely be really sorry.

I am firmly on the Trevor Penning OL pickup for the Hawks in the 1st. He's a beast with a nasty streak who can start year one. Plus, I think he'll be there if we don't slide much.

Penning looked awful at the Senior Bowl.

But we need a true T not a G. He has a high ceiling and he may be the best we can get after the elite tackles are off the board. Cross might be there but I've heard he's limited also. We need OL help.
