What was the most entertaining game this weekend? I'm trying to watch some college football but don't know where to begin. Usually I just watch the championship game but that's a fair wait.
To my great surprise they are showing a college game here in São Paulo, Ohio State vs ND.
Gotta tell ya, I’m not at all impressed with CJ Stroud. Only one game and against a quality opponent, but he’s not very accurate, or is late on his throws, or both.
OMG, Will Anderson is a monster. Not seeing it with CJ Stroud. Young looks good but I would go with Anderson over Young after watching 1/2 of a football game. Richardson, Leary, Van Dyke, Jefferson all unimpressive to me today. Jaren Hall might need a closer look. Also liked what I saw out of Jurkovec today.
PS. Love the college posts. You will lose me though if you focus on good Grayson McCall highlights and bad highlights (lowlights) from all other QBs because your mind is made up.
Watched Fresno state ( watched them a little last year 🤷🏻♂️) boggles my mind that chris Peterson chose Eason over Jake . Don’t know if Jake is an amazing NFL prospect but he’s a heck of a college QB
.
Who I’m watching today is Grayson ( my son is sending me the hacked feed ) Caleb and Addison , Young , Stroud . Usually don’t get excited about the other positions until the season is about half way and their story lines are developing
You have been singing the same tune as me...even IF I disagreed, you lay it out as the way it is VS opinions, which I like.
I am optimistic the Hawks will Not be worse than 6-7 wins. Denver will likely be better than that but not likely more than 9 wins - after all, new coaches rarely get higher than the bottom tier of playoffs and THAT division IS legit. Thus I anticipate there will be two QBs (OSU's Stroud and Bama's Young) selected ahead of our first pic.
That said, I VERY much Do Not want us to trade up and lose valuable draft capital on an unnecessary upgrade VS who will be available at our natural selection spot. SO - I am looking to Will Levis (competitive AF - Joe Montana-like really) who maybe will be available with the Bronco's pic.
IF the Hawks do supremely suck, then go QB with the Early 2nd rounder - use premium capital on Game Wrecking/pass rushing interior DL plus an Absolute Stud of a receiver on a rookie contract will be needed.
I Really have been swayed by your Grayson McCall love-fest as well as Arkansas's KJ Jefferson - these guys are likely late second or 3rd rounders who can indeed make a difference. Boy, would it be cool to have a difference making QB at the end of the 2nd round or early 3rd AND 3 to 4 additional early draft difference-makers.
Chances are, we will need to replace Rashard Penny plus Bobby Wagner's replacement was never brought in. No matter how good a year Austin Blythe has, a Stud center is needed as long as Aaron Donald is on our schedule 2-3 times a year.
Too many needs to trade up. Teams that perpetually suck do that when so many draft opportunities like this one presents itself. With all the Seahawk's needs, keep building a Super Bowl worthy TEAM. Complete Teams win championships. Not QB heavy rosters with numerous holes.
Proof, Dan Marino - perhaps the league's best-ever QB talent - never hoisted a trophy. John Elway did not until they built a team around him. 'Matty Ice' in ATL - nope. Russ has only one ring and that was thanks to a top-5 all-time defense. Dan Fouts, Warren Moon, or a whole slew of primo QBs never sniffed the Lombardi.
But give Trent Dilfer an All-time Defense and a running attack and he gets a ring. Yes, Trent friggin' Dilfer's ring finger readily offers proof!
Being a Seahawks fan in NC, I've gotten pretty good at finding "alternative" sports streams. So today's slate is starting with NC State vs ECU. ECU has a WR who is looking great, and their QB is playing well. I'm sold on McCall so the Coastal Carolina game is the one I'm most excited for in a couple of hours here.
I don't watch college football much anymore, but I'm always interested in your thoughts on players the Hawks might have their eyes on, or should. So, these college football articles are cool with me. Go Hawks.
Yep. So then the question becomes: do you trade up (assuming you’re not picking at #1) to go get him, and still find a legit 1st rd QB deep enough in the draft to get both, after whatever you had to give up for Anderson.
He seems like more of a consensus than anyone I can recall since perhaps Andrew Luck.
Ok. Seattle at 5, Denver at 25. Those ahead of Seattle (from 1st pick down) Atlanta, Houston, Carolina and Bears. Not trying to be pessimistic about Seattle, just don’t think Pete’s style can win without explosive plays and the running game also needs someone to loosen up the box. And so many rookies need to ball out.
But actually quite optimistic about 2023 even with a rookie QB bc next year’s OL and defense should be quite interesting.
Denver more likely to be in the mid-upper teens for draft order due to new coach and THAT division. Those who look to Tampa or the Ram's results in bringing in a new QB without taking into account that first time head coach and all new coordinators will be surprised. The 2022 Broncos are barely in or barely out of the playoffs.
My problem is I’ve watched this particular QB…..and I’m guessing his maniacal focus and passion for his work is going to elevate everyone else. Great point about that division though, no lay-ups.
But would you believe that despite that, their strength of schedule is #17 (#1 being the easiest). Privilege of being last in the division in ‘21. Weird though, Seattle was also last in their division and comes in at #22.
In fact the Monday Night matchup everyone is so jazzed about is among two last-place teams with 7-10 records.
I mean actual draft order haha. Here’s a generic answer: the odds of the Seahawks (or any team for that matter) trading up at that level are very low. Countless variables that need to be considered and we need a lot more information.
I am a #GoBlue fan and I am currently watching Mich beat down Colorado State (as expected).
Coren as a RB has a low centre of gravity, is difficult to tackle, and is going to have a big year. Ronnie Bell is a receiver to watch--lost his season last year to a pre-season injury but after he was voted a captain. Cade McNamara may turn out to be a low-rated QB that has the ability to run an NFL offense.
Mike Morris #90 is picking up where Aiden Hutchinson left off as a DE.
Please keep this coming. I don’t have the time to watch college football, but I am very interested....in all of it (but mostly QBs). I’ll check the box scores but those rarely tell the story.
Man we don’t get college football too much down here so I’ll just rely on what you see.
But to me this whole college season is about a) is Will Anderson worth trading up for given the depth of the QB class, or b) is the QB class really that deep, and if not do you need to protect your ability to get one of the few even if that means Anderson is out of reach.
Bc a great QB on a rookie contract is pretty much a choice you have to take.
Barring injury, I don’t think there’s anything that can happen to Will A this year that could take him out of the top 3. And maybe not even an injury would do that. NFL scouts know what they need to know. He could opt out and be a top 3 pick.

The McCall hype train rolls on...
Coastal Carolina 38 - Army 28
Passing: 12/17 - 174 yards - 3 TD's - 0 INT
Rushing: 6 carries, 27 yards, 1 TD, long 10 yards
Levis had a few highlights tonight. He looked good to me.

Good thing that's not what I do then!
Grayson McCall is so accurate.
Early candidate for the all-name team: Kavosiey Smoke - Kentucky RB
Yeah that’s new to me!

Looking forward to many more Saturday posts 😁🙌🏻

Yeah, I actually don’t really like college football. The NFL is much better. But it’s fun when you find fun players.

Need to find out the draft order, or have some idea of draft order, before I’ll wrap my head around that question.

Might be time to start keeping tabs on UNC’s Drake Maye. But he’s a 2024 prospect.
Devin Leary looking good. He’s my QB5.
Not the start to the season that Leary wanted. Game has gotten progressively worse.
I am a #GoBlue fan and I am currently watching Mich beat down Colorado State (as expected).
