Schneider is always saying glowing words about players on the roster and off the roster. DK, Geno, K9, but in many cases he’s just not going to tell you how he really feels. Did he think they had RB1A on the roster? It certainly came across that way, but in reality he feels he has several RB1Bs on the roster. Charbs might only be an RB1b when he comes back, IF he comes back this year. From his day 1 draft press conference it sounded as if Price was higher on his board than anyone else available. Colton Hood, McDonald. I believed he was looking for a trade back into the late thirties for a 4th round pick AND Price. Many of those teams had already moved up and he had no partner in that safe range. He got his #1 target, but slightly higher than he’d hoped. The downside is he didn’t get the extra 4th round pick for Stephens and needed to dip into 2027 draft capital.

I hope Ivey or O’Toole step up and take Mafe’s place. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see Fowler in camp very shortly. If he’s mostly the same player as last year, he’s capable of replacing Mafe’s snaps with very little fall off in quality and he won’t break the bank.

With improved play from last year’s rookies and 2nd year players, the 53 could be better than ever. With this year’s draft and almost all of the ready squad signed back from last year, the 70 man roster /ready squad is deeper than ever. 14 wins is the floor for us this year. Without major injuries, we could win every game. Buckle up for the ride! As Jackie Gleason use to say, “How sweet it is!”

I was hoping the Hawks would not select Price and am torn on the selection now. I don't doubt the attributes but have concerns about his ability to handle a larger work load over a longer season. I do trust the judgement of JS and hope it works out.

I do like the Neal and Clark selections and am not concerned the edge position was not addressed.

Overall it feels like the team made the best of a weak draft.

I’m with you. I thought Colton Hood was a 1st round pick they would take if he was there. I thought they’d be fine with Coleman at 96. But I don’t waste any time getting over my personal picks. The Seahawks take player evaluations very seriously and hire the talent and spend the money to get as much intel to make these decisions. I think after the 2021 season Pete’s say in certain areas was reduced. Before 2022 Pete was able to say “Take this guy.” He had final say. I wouldn’t be surprised if ownership tweaked things after several poor draft years. Since 2022 the Seahawks have been on a great drafting stretch. I’m very interested to see how Beau Stephens plays. I think they wanted to get a trade back for a 4th round pick specifically for him. The face they gave up a 2027 4th for him speaks to what the scouts and coaches feel about him. I think they feel his ceiling is beyond bradford’s ceiling and capable of unlocking the run game. He had the 3rd highest zone run blocking game of all the guards in college (per Rob Staton) Bradford’s physique, agility and quickness is just limiting his ability to get to the second level and make those reach blocks. It’s staggering how far behind he is getting downfield on run plays. Sundell and Zabel are 30 yards downfield right there with Walker, Bradford is 20 yards behind the play. I know Bradford can play at a starting level. But he’s never going to have that elite level zone blocking play. The three players they took in the 7th round are wild cards. I think any one of them by themselves will probably not make any major contributions, but the effort they make to find players has me feeling one of them could be a big surprise. It’s going to be a great season!

Yeah the Stephens pick was a major concession, giving up a 4th in next yrs draft for a 5th in this year’s. They really like him

Let’s hope it pays off. I would love for this pick to turn out to be a hit. I think Price will be a hit, Clark will be a hit, maybe Neal will be a hit. Given how little draft capital they had this year, we still could have the best draft class in the division. It’s highly unlikely they hit will all 4 picks, but JS has been on a roll, and I don’t think it’s just because of blind luck. They’ve developed one hell of an evaluation team.

Hah, I liked Hood and Coleman as well.

Stephens is an interesting prospect and I look forward to his development under Benton's tutelage.

I agree about Bradford. He looks like an old school power running scheme guard to me. Zabel and Sundell's ability to get up field is amazing.

The rest of the draft felt like throwing darts at a board. We'll see if any of them end up contributing.

Yes, now just imagine instead of two, you have a trio of IOLmen running downfield ahead of Price road paving DBs. It’s a pipe dream now, but I have to believe the effort to get Beau Stephens had to be something like that.

In MM and JS we trust. Regarding all else, we do not care…
