The Seahawks are rebuilding the defensive line, which has always been the plan--not to repeat the defensive line

Prior to the 2023 NFL Draft, I encouraged Seahawks fans to keep an open mind about Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter because if Pete Carroll and John Schneider vetted his character concerns as a reasonable risk and made him the fifth overall pick, then Seattle should accept that pre-draft narratives may be overblown.

Now that we know that the Seahawks passed on Carter and he fell to the Philadelphia Eagles, I say…Wow! What a foolish pick! Carter will make the Eagles regret the day that they traded up for Jalen Carter! Nick Sirianni is going to have start calling Eagles practices “Eagles games” just to make sure that Jalen Carter shows up, but that trick may only work for a few seasons!

Seahawks fans were divided on Carter, the draft prospect. Now we can come together to root against Carter, the Philadelphia Eagle…

On the other hand, oh boy could the Seahawks use a player like him and Seattle knows for sure now that two of their most recent defensive tackles won’t be returning. Where will Pete Carroll turn next?
