I truly dig the defensive upgrades. In my heart of hearts, we would have a Big named interior D-lineman as well but I am feeling very good about Cam Young. I am also Very intrigued by the little guy from San Diego State (Jonah Tavai) whose film looks amazing!

Nevertheless, if the NYJ's Quinnen Williams (and his $9.5M 2023 contract) could be absorbed - somehow - I'd give up next year's 1st-Round pic - heck, maybe a little more. His next contract will be a biggie, like $20M+ annually, but that is what you pay for Massive game-wrecking studs like him.

Regardless, 7 new starters this year pretty much Guarantees our D's run-fits will not be completely on the same page until well into the season. By the time the late season weather affects the passing game, we will be ready to be a factor.

I'm a little late on the stats debate but since you mentioned your opinion on PFF again, I'll chime in. Stats are kind of like the Bible. IF you break them down into small enough parts, you can get them to say whatever you want, even if it is the opposite of the intent. Far too many journalist write from a pre-concluded argument that they disguise as an open ended question and they are trying to gather data in order to form a "enlightened" opinion in real time with the reader. In reality, they are parsing out pieces of stats to justify what they already believe in order to make it look that they took you along on their "eureka" journey. Context be damned. It's no different than what politicians & religious exploiters do. So many sports journalists try to look like impartial scientists uncovering the truth but they are just fans who know how to write & they have their favorites and least-favorites just like everybody else. One of Joe's greatest advantages is that he doesn't have to pretend to be impartial or un-biased. He is biased & partial and that is the beauty & simplicity of his points of view. No need to pretend.

I loved seeing you and hearing you on the interview! Awesome job! I hope it brings more interest and subscribers your way, Ken! I am torn by how he snuck in the comment at the very end, "it's worth the subscription amount", though. I wonder if it should have been mentioned that the newsletter is FREE! and that the free content is amazing in it's own right, even though he was correct in that the subscription is totally worth it. Maybe just a few more folks would be enticed to actually come check this cool thing out you've got going if he had said it has a ton of great free content with even more available for a very small subscription amount. Idk. I do tend to overthink, and maybe that is me being protective of "my" community. Either way, I was riveted in a way that I almost never am to podcasts. Good on you!

Cutting B. Wags was the dumbest move In Seahawks history. If he's lost a step, his experience , knowledge and anticipation more than makes up for it. Plus his veteran presence helps the entire team learn how to be real professionals!

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a contract extension.

B. Wags is back home where he belongs!

Wow, great interview with you and Dan Viens on the Seahawks Forever podcast ! Your interview was much better than the podcasts of yore. Non-negotiable habits can be quite important. While i don't do a strict intermittant fasting routine i do stop eating a couple to three hours before bedtime and this has helped. Long ago i used to do regular meditation 'n now am gonna try to rekindle this.

Thanks, KenJoe for being you 'n sharing along with the Community which has formed here.

I've watched A LOT of sports movies, and anytime you have a really young team full of underdogs and unproven players, it's really important to have that old-school veteran guy to hold them all accountable. Plus, Bobby will inevitably learn something new about himself that he never thought possible at this stage in his life that will improve him not just as a football player, but as a human being. Unfortunately his season will be cut short at a critical moment due to injury, but he'll pull Jordan Brooks to the side and tell him this is his team now and it's time to get it done, and Brooks will not disappoint.

After the welcome home reception the 12s gave Bobby last season when he was a RAM I am positive he will play his best for the fans, and to prove he was released before he was done in Seattle. We've had a season under COVID, Wilson's worst season, and a season trying to be optimists with Smith as QB. Just having Bobby return as the last two draft selections are renewing the excitement seems like a pretty good plan for the 2023 season.

The podcast was really terrific, Ken!! I subscribed to it and hope lots more people do.

Gotta love Bobby and all he has meant to the historic run of great Seahawks' D. But I was not sad to see him leave after a down 2021 and I am a bit worried that "2022 Bobby" is a bit of an illusion, that last flash of greatness before the inevitable demise. What will the Seahawks get from him in 2023? His mentorship is worth a lot, and younger players definitely respect someone who has played as many quality seasons as Bobby, who is no doubt headed to the HOF. I just hope he can give one more great season.

Remember when Tony Dungy had the audacity to vote for Bobby for NFL MVP in 2015 and he was roundly mocked by much of the NFL pundits and fans? Man, how times have changed (thank god).

It makes me so gd happy to see Bobby continue to get the respect he deserves year after year now, as opposed to the first three years of his career when he would inevitably come up a name (or two, or three) after Luke Kuechly in most any sentence written or spoken about the best linebackers in the NFL. Kuechly was an incredible player and earned his fair share of praise and respect but it still grated on me that Bobby often got overlooked when people discussed the "best" or even "most impactful" players on that LOB defense, let alone the best linebackers in the NFL.

The irony is Bobby has had the longest career of any players off that defense and is a first ballot HoF vote; he may be the only former LOB with a guaranteed gold jacket. I hope he has another great season, the Seahawks will definitely need him.
