Broncos could start fire sale if they lose to Jets today
Seahawks 2023 draft capital could be "movin' on up"
The Denver Broncos are 2-4 and Russell Wilson is out today, missing the fourth game of his career, all absences occuring within the last year. The Broncos will be starting Brett Rypien, nephew of Mark, against the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon. It is the second start of Rypien’s career, as the former undrafted free agent also got the nod against the Jets in Week 4 of the 2020 season in place of an injured Drew Lock.
Rypien threw three interceptions in that game, albeit a Denver win.
But this is not the same Jets team as 2020 and a Broncos loss in Week 7 could prompt the raising of the white flag in an attempt to recoup some of the draft capital lost by trading for Wilson. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Broncos have already started to receive offers for key players and their answers in those proposals don’t appear to be a flat “No.”
Could the Seahawks benefit from a Broncos tank job, even though Denver doesn’t even have its own first and second round picks?
Let’s look ahead in this Sunday morning’s Regular Joes bonus article.
