Loving the video breakdowns of KWIII and Cross. Would be great to see something on Mafe too, but I know I’m just being greedy.

I recall Rob Staton on your podcast saying he had a 2nd round grade on Cross. I didn't see it at the time and certainly don't after watching these GIFs. But if there's any position of player evaluation I feel inept at, it's OL. It's like watching 2 bears fight for 4 seconds and unless there's a sack, pressure or penalty, it usually looks like a tie or OL win to me. I hope we've stuck gold with our pair of OT picks in this year's draft. We need to keep McCall clean for his rookie season and let him develop!

Best we can do Chuck is watch this film together as a group at Seaside Joe and hope to get better with knowing what to look for and what we're seeing. We get to see one bad play by Charles Cross (the sack at the end of the game) but otherwise we know that he didn't ever show up on this film as "the problem". No penalties. No other sacks or even really any pressures. And the offense was able to run to his side of the ball effectively. This is only one game but it is a game against a lot of current and future NFL players. Even some potential NFL stars. I think we're looking at the whole picture, the macro view, and the takeaway is definitely that this game is a definite positive.

That doesn't mean there aren't going to be games or reasons to have a lower grade on Charles Cross. Can't dismiss Rob's point of view based on one game. But I think this game is definitely what you want to see from a top-10 pick.

I'm once again trying to not get carried away with excitement. If he performs at a similar level in the NFL, I'll be thrilled.

Giving him slack that 2022 is his rookie season and he will most likely struggle more than he ever has in his life, my expectations are super high after starting this Charles Cross series.

You make a good point. Even Cortez Kennedy struggled in his rookie year. Then he made the pro bowl. A year later he was defensive player of the year.
