Long-time Seahawks fans will remember Jerheme Urban, a UDFA wide receiver from a Div III school (my alma mater, Trinity University) who caught Mike Holmgren’s eye. Urban had a nice NFL career in Seattle, Arizona, and Kansas City that included a reception in SB43 and a key catch in Seattle’s dramatic come-from-behind victory over the Cowboys in 2005.
I wish this young man well. Just having a body that tall, strong, and fast lined up opposite of DK Metcalf should strike fear in the hearts of DC's all over the league.
Somehow I imagine the Seahawks may have had a scout in the stands. As you correctly pointed out it's almost, or to me is impossible to tell who's who other than the QB. I had no audio for the director, but my first guess was these were students learning how to film a football game.
One thing that brou back good memories was how good Doug Baldwin was, making it onto an NFL roster as an undrafted free agent. Taking his NFL career to such a high level is other worldly. I loved watching Baldwin play, and for my money he was the best in the league at getting off the line of scrimmage. I have no idea how many third down conversions he had, I am sure it was impressive.
Getting back to Young I read he had a very good three cone drill. Did he get invited to the combine ? It sure would be cool if he is good enough to make the practice squad, or he turns out to be a special teams ace.
Question we took a tightend I think two years ago in the seventh round He had a a very challenging up bringing. At one point he lived under a bridge for a week when he was no older than 12 or 13. I can't remember his name, maybe Sullivan, if you Ken or someone knows his name and what happened to him. I know we left him unprotected for a week and he was snapped up in a hurry. He was a big man 6ft 4, 250 lbs. Most impressively he earned his college degree. I thought of him because of Young's size measurables. Can anybody remember his name. Our other 7th round receiver Melton has a shot to make the team as a special team gunner and kick returner. Thank you in advance of somebody remembering the tightends name. Victoria Chris
I also remember him playing defensive end for a game and nearly got a sac on the first play. Coming from LSU he had a good deal of high level coaching. Something went wrong for the Seahawks leaving him unprotected. With all that possible upside, I believe he would have played in a few games last year. Thanks for your assistance Ray. Peace out. Victoria Chris
Ugh. I found it difficult to watch. Hoping there's more to this young man than I've seen so far. His measurables were excellent. Hope it translates to the NFL.
