The Seattle Seahawks are bringing back quarterback Drew Lock for another year. The seventh year player spent last season with the New York Giants, starting five games and starring in Week 17 with a 4-TD performance in a win over the Colts.
I’ve been noting Lock as a potental return a few times, including as a “bad quarterback” addition who could still help the team in some capacity.
Signing Lock in itself does not preclude the Seahawks from drafting a quarterback relatively early in the 2025 draft. But plenty of other signs that have happened this offseason do a good enough job of that without needing Lock to be the reason.

Seattle now has Sam Darnold as the starter with Lock, Sam Howell, and Jaren Hall fighting it out for backup roles.
When your article about giving up on players too early came out, this is the first one I thought about. I loved locks college tape and always thought we could get more out of him.
This is a surprise. The guy does have talent. A better backup than Howell.
