When you specify "Drive 6 - None", what does that mean. There were no plays?
Note that in the Denver game Seattle only possessed the ball four times after halftime including the kneel-down. It's tough to get an offensive going with so few touches.
San Francisco was just a cluster. Everything wrong, nothing right against a team with a superior roster.
What would Brady do? What goes through Rodgers head when he comes up to the line of scrimmage? What thought process sets an elite quarterback ahead of all the other game managers and backups? When Mahomes “ throws a guy open “ is he being careless with the rock?
I think I’m getting there. The concern for me is if we start working with a new experimental QB starter next season and PC ties one hand behind their back so they don’t make any mistakes, how many years will this process go on?
There are no guarantees. If the team doesn't perform well year after year, at some point there will be a new coach and maybe GM too. And still there will be no guarantees. As Jim Morrison said, the future's uncertain.
How did we go from great run blocking at the end of last year and such poor run blocking this year? Especially considering our two new rookie tackles are not the problem? Time to try Curhan at RG. Other than that I agree that successful downfield passing should make running easier, but when faced with two high safeties they need to run or risk not completing the pass at a high rate.
This is the bleakest of posts, but sometimes you have to stare at the horror like Kurtz, but try to stay sane - or at least remember that as was mentioned, the Niner defense is one of the best there is, our tackles are rookies and our QB doesn’t scare anyone.
But my god is the playcalling terrible. Another dismal failure against the Falcons and it’s time to get the pitchforks out - it’s one thing to accept that your team is just bad, quite another to have to accept they will be boring whilst at it.
I believe it will be difficult to match up our expectations of a bad season with the reality of watching a bad season. This is what a bad season will look like, unfortunately.
This is my internal struggle. My rational thoughts and my actual feelings are at odds. I don't care if we lose, but I want to see our offensive playmakers and our aggressive defense do cool stuff. That's just not a likely scenario, but my hopes and disappointment just won't go away!
Succeeding at cool stuff might be a step too far, but simply attempting it should be a given - grimly trying not to lose when you suck just makes for dull, unwatchable sport. There needs to be a complete volte face in approach this week.
Yes a direct snap. I didn’t realize they were only looking at passes. I remember one where Doug Baldwin passed to Wilson for a touchdown, but not the year.
Sometimes you have to tip your hat to your opponent. The Niner's D is maybe the toughest one the Seahwaks will face all season.
But the trend over the last 6 quarters is BAD and something needs to change (maybe the QB???). I would really like to see Lock running RPO plays when he is actually a threat to run. Against 2 deep safety looks that would more than likely be successful.
Not only a lack of possessions inside the openents 40, a lack of possessions period. The big Stat that stands out to me is defenses are playing two high safeties even on our run plays. Penny has looked good grinding out the yards he can.
This is made to sound like we never called any deep shots, maybe that's true. The thing is when you go down 14 the run should be open to make first downs. Is it time to put Lewis back on the right side and start Phil Haynes on the left ? How have our tackles done in run blocking, I figure the tightends have been OK?

Welcome to 2022. Perhaps 2023 will be better.

You missed the trick play fake punt last year where Homer made a 73 yd. Touchdown
I do not run the Field Gulls twitter account. But I do believe it says "pass" play. Was that a run?
