I just looked it up—early roles for Kenneth Cranham and Peter Firth. Was Cranham craggy even back then, he wondered?
I saw Donovan back in the early 80s. Just totally pro from beginning to end, and I still remember Lalaina in particular. A very friendly crowd; he could have mailed it in and we would have been happy.
I took the 1st overall pick over the cap space. 5 years of control over 4. We’ve been drafting well lately so I trust we’d get a difference maker. 1st crack at the potential long term QB from that class, if there is one. The team would get younger with the pick, and probably older with a FA.
Tough call though. I can make an argument the other way.
Ok, I'll WATCH every game but too far and expensive to GO to home games. I'd trade a player (NOT our amazing LS though! Maybe a WR...we seem to have too many) and a 3rd round pick for Trey. As for UFO's, if we knew what they we they'd be "IFO's right? If one thinks they are ET, one has a poor grasp of just how far out in the cosmic sticks we are. I think UFO's and Sasquash are mostly seen near rural tavern's after closing.
* I’m 70 and may not be here ten years from now. So give me the Super Bowl.
* Ray Roberts. Anything I’ve heard him talk about—from offensive line play to the BLM protests to mental health to his upbringing near Asheville NC—is thoughtful, articulate, and well worth my time.
* I don’t care about UFOs. I suppose they are some kind of natural phenomenon, but I don’t give them much thought.
* Jason Isbell Live at the Ryman vol 2. The guy writes great songs and plays a formidable guitar. It’s all on display here.
* Trey Hendrickson for a #2? No brainer. You’re a lot more likely to draft Dee Eskridge or Paul Richardson than Bobby Wagner.
* Mike Dugar is funny, observant, offbeat, and a good reporter. I don’t always agree with him, but I always respect what he has to say.
Ok that fifth question sucked royally. Not fair SJ. As lifetime Hawks fan. First season until I die, and now long long time season ticket holder, 2006 just getting to SB (not talking the theft in Detroit though) that first time appearance was a lifetime dream. Grown men crying hugging laughing. No one wanting to leave Seahawks stadium. Then getting to go to New Jersey and destroying Denver live and there. Greatest feelings in the world. Any kid that gets to live that will have a dream come through. But I want chance every year.
I chose to be in the playoffs 10 straight years but with the caveat that I don't know they won't win the Super Bowl any of those years. With the other choice playing losing ball and not making the playoffs would be just terrible.
The website I recommended is the site for Dr. Malcolm Kendrick because like me, he's a contrarian and he goes into great detail as to why healthcare today is likely making you worse off and he's also done a deep dive (I believe 61 separate posts on it) into what causes heart disease (hint... it isn't LDL).
Great researcher, funny as all get out and doesn't let his preconceived notions stop him from getting at the truth.
I've read that. Great book. That's another reason why I mostly hate doctors and haven't seen one since 2007. Pharma pushes research down a path to lifelong pharma use by saying cancer is genetic when it's obviously a metabolic issue.
My personal wake up call was back in 2007 when I was diagnosed with asthma. My doctor put me on a steroid inhaler and told me the asthma would get progressively worse and I'd keep needing a stronger prescription. In a month I'd gained 10 pounds from the steroid so I decided to do my own research. I switched to a low carb diet and my asthma was gone in a few days. I discovered I was also a metabolic wreck, the diet switch did wonders. I hate to imagine where I'd be if I had continued to listen to my doctor. I also lost 40 lbs, my hand tremors disappeared and my nearsightedness improved so I no longer need glasses. I later did carnivore and my lifelong hayfever went away.
Interesting re your eyesight. Mine did the same, which is good I guess but the constant prescription changes are costing me a fortune. I had my epiphany 10 years after you, but better late than never.
It was a long time ago and I can't remember where I saw it but there was a study that showed elevated insulin could lead to the eyeball becoming slightly misshapen causing the image passing through your iris to be slightly out of focus. My Lab ate my glasses and I suddenly realized I could see again.
Some of my favourite movies: 12 Monkeys, So I Married An Axe Murderer, Rear Window, (the original), The Vanishing (1993), Good Will Hunting.
Books: Marcus Aurelius’ Meditatons, The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, Nineteen Eighty Four, The Autobiography of Matin Luther King, Jnr and related to Aliens - Probability 1.
Going to a Seahawks game is a bucket lister (just behind the SB) for me being in Australia. So they’re a bit unfair questions for me. Unless I win the lottery, it’s probably not going to happen.
I couldn't recommend just one book/movie/yt channel/etc. So cruel!!! So beyond my survey answer here's some more things which have nothing to do with football:
Book: The Wind Up Bird Chronical by Haruki Murakami
Movie: The Nice Guys (not obscure, just so goddamn funny!)
YT Channel: akascarlet (baseball focused Vtuber, this one won't suit most people tbf)
Music: Polkadot Stingray (they're Japanese, be prepared to have to just vibe rather than understand)
Website: Tom Scott's email newsletter (not really a website, but a great resource for finding odd and interesting online content)
Chose John Schneider and I’m hoping it’s for an entire weekend, dinner won’t begin to cover it all.
Live too far away to go to training camp or games unfortunately
Absolutely give me $25m/yr for 4 yrs to spend on proven players, rather than throwing me onto the “swing for the fences” list that might get me a Peyton Manning but more likely will get me a Jameis Winston
Take Trey Henderson for sure if he can be had for a 2nd rd pick. Let’s add blue chips! Esp given our our cap situation. If he and Williams are both drawing double teams the party’s over. And having waves of talent at edge, every down, is arguably the single biggest defensive advantage of all.
I don’t know what UFO’s are. Do think we’re not a simulation though.
Another Super Bowl but then 10 yrs outside the playoffs? Yes give me the SB. (But it’s a fake yes bc I don’t believe Schneider is capable of missing the playoffs for 10 consecutive yrs no matter how much of the future he mortgages for a SB. He’s too savvy and most problems would iron themselves out after 5 yrs).
Yes pls let’s do already discuss 2026. But only bc it’s Seaside Joe with real insights into Seahawks thinking. I know we were all surprised with a guard in R1 and trading up for essentially a late R1 for Emmanwori, but that’s because we spent so much time intelligently dissecting Schneider’s habits. So yes I’d def be interested in starting the dialogue as soon as you have insights. I already know you won’t post anything without relevance
Haven’t watched the entire SB for awhile, but have watched extended highlights several times over the past year. The last time was to verify the “win the last 2 mins of the 1st half and the first 2 mins of the 2nd half” theorem. I’d argue that TD interception with 3 mins to go in the first half, and then holding them on 4th down in the red zone to send them into the locker room with ZERO on the scoreboard constitutes an emphatic win in the last 2 mins of the first half. And can you win the first 2 mins of the 2nd half any better than HARVIN’s TD ON THE OPENING KICKOFF to go up 29-0?? Talk about a dagger in your heart…and then they punt on the next drive 😂
My 2nd favorite Seahawks scribe is Bob Condotta. He’s right most of the time, is balanced, and seems to have the respect of the Seahawks so gets the right kind of insights.
Book movie or channel? A movie called “The Mission” with DeNiro and Jeremy Irons, and a achingly beautiful score by Ennio Morricone.
Thanks for taking the time to respond so fully. Lately, I've only the energy for short posts, but I appreciate the effort and thoughtfulness all of you put into these posts for the rest of us to read.
If I have to choose only one, Steve Largent because he did more with less, making the most of his potential. But how could you not want to sit down with M. Lynch? B Wagner? T Lockett? L Wilson? Spoon? And now C Kupp.
I’ve attended at least on game every year I’ve lived in Seattle. I think I will go to 2 games this year. I have gone to the fan fest for the past 2 years as well. This year it’s at 6PM, I think that will be awesome. Warm summer nights at Lumen!
Hard no for me on Hendrickson. We risked it with Leo Williams and got him signed. One of our own guys (or both) Mafe or Hall could step up to 12 or more sack people. We should be able to go Edge in round 1 next year. We have to sign Spoon and JSN next year. Cap space doesn’t grow on trees.
Looking at the direction the human race is headed, I’m hoping UFOs are extremely intelligent life forms, and if they’re reading this could they please make some helpful suggestion how we can improve our life on this planet before we do something stupid and end it?
Wow! how could I have forgotten Lynch? I might have to change my answer. Are cheerleaders an option? Steve Largent is a great choice as well. Richard Sherman would be an awesome conversation.
Yes, I was just trying to be funny. Sheron would definitely be a worthwhile dinner date ;). I heard he was at the facility recently, so he’s still around town.
One Movie that's quite uplifting (to me) is Brother Sun, Sister Moon, the story of St. Francis and St. Claire. The songs are by Donovan.
I just looked it up—early roles for Kenneth Cranham and Peter Firth. Was Cranham craggy even back then, he wondered?

Not fair, and also not accurately phrased, we’re going to be the first team to three peat.
I'm having dinner with Warren Moon. I wish he could be returned to the broadcast booth.

Contrarian is my middle name Bob. On that vein, for you I’d recommend the book Tripping Over the Truth. Technical read but totally worth it.

Maybe I should try a Go Fund Me 🤔😁

I'm eating dinner with Cortez Kennedy, can't imagine why you wouldn't trade for Trey Hendrickson, and would take a SB win at pretty much any cost.
Will you pin this on your site so I don't have to save this edition or what?
I hope to attend a practice, but would love to coordinate on this site a way to meet a few of you.
Maybe that's a bad idea, so I will let it sort of happen here or never bring it up again if noone seems interested.
The fan fest is like a practice but at lumen field. It’s also in downtown and starts at 6pm so you can make a whole day of it.
Man, if I ever get to a game, that’s the first thing I’d do - get out a meet up for a couple of frothy’s with all these guys and gals.
Though being from Australia, I’d need some inside knowledge of where that would/could happen.
Chose John Schneider and I’m hoping it’s for an entire weekend, dinner won’t begin to cover it all.

I also chose Largent but Marshawn and Sherm were hard to pass up. I'd like to have dinner with each of them..
I chose Coach MacDonald. I need to know what the non-negotiables are.
Wow! how could I have forgotten Lynch? I might have to change my answer. Are cheerleaders an option? Steve Largent is a great choice as well. Richard Sherman would be an awesome conversation.
The only problem with choosing Richard Sherman is you won’t get a chance to talk ;)
Maybe, but you'd certainly get a chance to listen.

Survey not working for me.
Just fixed it. My bad!
