Film Study: Mike Macdonald's blitz packages with Ravens
Seaside Streams has Ennis Rakestraw, Ravens blitzing, draft prospects, QBs talking QBs, and so much more: Seaside Joe 1874
One week to go before the NFL Draft, I haven’t had the “aha moment” with any prospect like I had for Devon Witherspoon in 2023. Maybe that’s my fault or maybe it’s because there is no “aha” prospect in the middle of this first round. I’m leaning towards the latter explanation which is why I’m sensing that my ultimate prediction for the Seahawks will be a trade down and a defensive prospect like Cooper DeJean. If you disagree, you can take on me.
“But Joe, you just wrote a scathing review of DeJean and said he was probably—and I’m paraphrasing here—”The worst prospect I’ve EVER seen.””
Well, that’s close to what I said, but if I were to re-phrase your paraphrase I would remind Seasiders that my assessment of DeJean was that he makes me nervous as a prospect at pick 1.16 but that he still deserves to go in the first round and he will probably be a good NFL player.
On the Unbuttoned podcast for NBC, Chris Simms rated Cooper DeJean as the number one SAFETY in the draft class, followed by Ennis Rakestraw of Missouri, another college cornerback who would be making the transition. I’ve queued it up to the DeJean section, which is followed by Rakestraw.
