Geno Smith does not lead the NFL in interceptions, but he does lead the NFL in interceptions — and rank at or near the bottom for touchdowns — in almost every split you can think of: Fourth quarter, third down, tie game, at home, in the red zone, inside his own 20, and so on…

Since Kirk Cousins won’t throw another pass this season, Geno is almost guaranteed to end up leading the NFL in interceptions and interceptable passes in 2024. Move over, Sam Howell, last year’s leader.

Geno threw 5 passes against the Vikings that could have been picked, 2 of them were, and even Minnesota’s defensive players were surprised to see that the game came to them as easy as it probably seemed on paper:

Geno Smith has become the Seahawks and the Seahawks have become Geno Smith: Expecting Greatness but Accepting Average.
