I thought the episode was as well crafted and entertaining.

My wife and I started watching the show, and I figured she was good for about 10 minutes. She really enjoys the games, but doesn’t eat/sleep/breathe Seahawks like I do.

She watched the whole program and is excited about future episodes. My hat’s off to NFL Films. Good job!

I got teary-eyed seeing that kid squealing when he saw JSN. Not pretending to be cool about it, just simultaneous joy and shock at seeing someone you admire.

Haha, Mrs Turtleman said that she did too but she felt sad for Sam Darnold.

I thought the episode was pretty good. I wish they would drop all episodes the week after the last pre-season game. Seems they would be able to build better storylines that way. Favorite moment: Cooper Kupp pointing out something to MM about a play and MM getting super psyched. Least favorite: All the fighting. I know it happens, but personal trash-talking/taunting is why I was not sad to see Riq Woolen and DK Metcalf leave.

I was surprised by how engaged I was. I don’t watch any reality shows because they are constructed narratives edited by talented people who are trying to create or conflate tensions where they may not even exist, amongst people who have the omniscient camera in their faces. How could anything natural come out of that? Honestly, this felt very natural, holistic and fucking real. No posing, no ramping, just a fly-on-the-wall insight into my Hawks. Our Hawks, excuse me. When these highly paid professionals become three-dimensional, and vulnerable humans, this type of show takes on another and more meaningful layer. Yeah, I’m a homer, but…watching MM’s kid run around, Kupp flooring his coach with insight, trainers talking with intent and conviction, then I can forgive the ubiquitous fights (though BR’s discussion with his coach was, again, authentic.) It’s so hard to pull this off and make it feel genuine; so far, I feel like it is. That’s because of everyone - on BOTH sides of the camera. Well done. When’s Episode 2?
