Sorry I don't know a lot about American College, can you maybe explain what it means to 'letter' something? You already wrote this some time ago. Thanks a lot.
Lettering is going to vary by school & sport. But essentially it is an individual achievement award of some type. In high school & college the “letter” lives on a letterman jacket (more so in HS than Uni).
There are a lot of mirages in training camp and in the preseason. Eskridge has had trouble staying healthy, so what we saw in the first preseason game mirrors what we’ve seen before. The Seahawks have a difficult decision when his suspension is over though I think they will give it one more chance. Bobo and Bryant are both really good football players but not extraordinary athletes by NFL standards. At present they are not going predominantly against reserve players who are not both good players and extraordinary athletes. So it is tough to tell whether what we are seeing / hearing is a mirage or not. In Bobo’ case I hope we get to find out in limited doses. In Bryant’s case I hope the Seahawks don’t have to find out on a full time basis.
Steve Smith probably won't make the Hall but we do need a HoF for the FHGA: fucking hilarious great athletes, and Steve would likely be first ballot in the door (Marshawn would also absolutely be in there first ballot).
No no no I’m not, but there was a former WR of the Seahawks that ran a 4.7 40 in 1976 that most considered too slow etc etc to play. He also had one of the greatest pay back huts/tackles of all time. Having size and winning those contested throws is huge. DK Bobo JSN and Colby, if he keeps improving, on field at same time would be really cause disruption to nickel and dime backs. Could be fun
OK, I've got a new favorite guy. Jake Bobo wears #19, the same as my childhood hero Johnny Unitus, I have a grandson named Jake, he seems like a good kid that plays a position of need for the Seahawks, and he's good enough that he might actually make the 53. Who could ask for more?
I like the description (Bobo, of himself) as a "tweener" TE/WR and the concept of a "power slot" receiver. There is a place for Bobo on the Seahawks and maybe a promiment place if develops into a ++ run blocker as well. Pete favors a 2 TE alignment but you can get the same result and more flexibility in playcalling with a "power slot" receiver.
Bobo has got the jam. You don't have to be fast if you are made of rubber (ok this is just a great song for a Saturday morning):
Judging from the highlight video I'm not concerned about his speed which I would call "fast enough" but what I really liked was how there wasn't any catching with his body, even when he was covered he was still open and he had a decent amount of shiftiness for a big guy. I think he could play all over the field.
I think he outgrew the Justin Bieber looks and now looks like another Justin, Justin Herbert.
What bummed me out about the highlight film was I'd forgotten how much I wanted the Hawks to grab DTR... I really think that guy has a future. In that video there were a lot of well paced, tight window throws with zip, he showed escapability and seemed like a guy who could be a good pro.
I should add so I'm not spreading misinformation: Bobo didn't actually say this, it's something Michael Jordan did in '87 and someone put a Seahawks spin on it.
Michael Bennett on coaching #Seahawks second-year OLB Boye Mafe this past week:
"I told Mafe all week, I said: 'You got two of them, use your hands. Use your hands Mafe.' I said: 'Your hands are too soft, they feel like butter. Slice your hands, get some blood in your hands.'"
Bennett continued, “use those hands to penetrate some skin and rip out someone’s ligaments. Eat them. Spit them back out into his face and laugh. Revel in the mayhem, Boye Mafe.”
To add, I love how Bennett uses Mafe's full name when he says "Revel in the mayhem, Boye Mafe" like he's a Jedi talking to his padawan. I imagine him putting a hand on Mafe's shoulder as he says it, haha.
I like the clear point that Bobo would be ideal coverage for DK. Metcalf has proven pretty resilient thus far but to back him up with a specific player like Bobo makes a ton of sense. Speaking on this front, who would we mark out as the coverage for JSN and for NoE?
And i know a lot of people seem set on Eskridge finally being done, but just as many people have said the same about Adams. And I have a sinking feeling PC is wedded to Dee even though it's pretty demonstratably hurting the team at this point. Thus, is a WR room of DK, NoE, JSN, Dee & Bobo comfortable for people? (Ending Darekes time in Seattle most likely)

Thank you a lot Breezo!

Did Jake Bobo not enter the draft? How could he have gone undrafted if he was there?

"Revenge is a dish best served cold."
-Steve, maybe.
"Does that sound like maybe the recipe for creating a Paul Walker high school character in a lab?"
I legit laughed out loud.
Awesome 😎

Bruce Arians?
I always thought of Jurevicius as a weasel.
Hass would throw a laser beam over the middle of the field, pop goes the weasel, and the ball would be in Jurevicius’ hands.
All around the mulberry bush…

Gets me going.
Very good! 👍🏻
So he stretches the field?
In a snap!
And he bounces back from a bad play.

And this one based on Michael Jordan
Anonymous Vikings player on Jake Bobo:
“He walked in our locker room & walked right by me. And I’m like, what the hell is he coming in our locker room for?
And he walked by me & he tapped Andrew Booth on the leg, and said, ‘Lace ’em up, it’s gonna be a long f–-king game.”

I still like to think he actually did it though 😂
Bobo is not "clowning" around, either.
Dad jokes are an easy "like" from me. Keep up the good work
THAT is savage. Bobo is not a little monkey, he is a GORILLA
Like I keep sayin'...
He's going to be my favorite Rookie for that!!

Revel in the mayhem, indeed
