Given our defensive backfield woes this week and the fact that the Saints seem to have all their WRs and RBs ready to go, we need our D line to stop the the run and pressure their QB with as few blitzes as possible. This one will definitely won or lost in the trenches. In spite of our decimated D backfield, I'm knda positive about this one. Go Hawks.

First of all let's PLEASE rest everyone that's not well -- long season, and the AZ game is far more important. Plus after that one the guys get another 10 days to recover.

And then, let's drown their offense with our DL front 7, waves and waves of constant pressure. I know we have injuries on our team, but you should see their injury report on their OL front 7:

OL Ryan Ranzsyck IR

OL Trevor Penning questionable

OL Dillon Radunz out

OL Nick Saldiveri IR

OL Taliese Fuaga questionable

TE Taysom Hill PUP

TE Foster Moreau PUP

OT Landon Young IR

C Will Clapp IR

OT Barry Wesley IR

TE Mason Pline IR

Oh, and 4 WR's on IR or questionable, plus Tyrann Mathieu on IR and Chase Young questionable.

C'mon Seattle, if we need to run risks with our questionable guys against a team that's down all these guys?? Let's heal our wounded and turn loose our DL in waves against their depleted OL.

This is exactly what I was worried about when I saw the schedule. We were given two Thursday night games against division rivals. Thursday games shouldn't exist, but the NFL is trying to up viewership with these key division games being Thursday games.

This is a bad week to type 'should get their license taken away'. Just sayin'.

I'd love for them to beat up on the Saints, but until I see them handle inferior competition, I'm not going to make any assumptions. Handle mediocre teams, beat good teams. That's what really good teams do. Let's see if we're one.

I have been meaning to comment on PENALTIES. Or better yet, the lack of penalties by our team. It is a breath of fresh air, to use a cliche. I'm busy watching college football, so discuss amongst yourselves.

Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll keep an eye on it.

I'll leave the research to you. Pete was undisciplined, MM, not so much, but the numbers, I'll leave to you.

I am more confident (which has NO relationship to actual outcome) that our "next man up" at WR or RB is going to have a big day. I am confident for four reasons:. (1) We havs good talent/depth at those positions, (2) Kubiak's O scheme favors those positions, (3) Our improved O line favors those positions, and (4) I'm more confident than correct 72.5% of the time. So, the subs actually have a 27.5% chance of having a big day. WOO HOO! GO HAWKS! "CRUCIFY THE SAINTS!" (What? Too soon?).

panic? Panic?! PANIC!?

Time to show this a TEAM with DEPTH. Championship calibre teams find a way to dig out of holes like this. We're going to find out how close we are in the next 6 days.

This sort of thing makes me nervous. Over the last couple years I've always wondering which Hawks team was going to come out of the tunnel and onto the field. This season I've been more confident that they'll hit right out of the box, but for some reason this takes me me back to the days of uncertainty. I should have more faith. counting on special teams and the D line setting the tone and dowsing any hopes the Saint's might have. I'm counting on a win and assume these guys have a laser focus on the task in front of them.

Murphy will be having his Way, irregardless of how others are playing. He'll be showing new moves, alone or with somebody. Mike will be having a full day, taking measure of his Ready Group: Who gets better when the pressure explodes off the charts? Who helps the guy struggling? Can Sam be Steady Eddie when needed? It will be hard on the Saints if they can't score. My bet is Defense puts up points. Our Offense opens holes and there ain't a damn thing anyone can do about it. Holani will drive his truck all day. New Orleans comes to realize this is a Rebuild Year.

HooYeah! for Wright. He impressed the hell outta me in preseason. I was disappointed to see him "cut". So this is very good news. He'll be bringing some very mean attitude/energy to the Field. So long as the Support Boys fight like hell tomorrow, I'll be okay with it. Not happy, but okay. We may see a return to bench-clearing by grown men channeling their inner Cheerleader when successes reveal themselves. That is not a Given, as we have seen lately. Nobody can coach that into the guys. (Well, Campbell excepted) The big threat would be watching all the butt-kickn juice Big Cat Leo Williams is infusing go "Poof!". It can easily turn hollow and get the creepy-nice bullsht going. I hold no doubt the A Team will be on the field Thursday, even off their deathbeds. Bring in a Win tomorrow, Boyz! Set the Tone for the rest of the year! It will be worth seeing MacDonald dancing stupidly in the locker room afterward. He knows the import of it all. Cut loose, Mike! Emphasis on clumsy stupid! Nothing phony. Nothing corporate. Just guyshit happy.

When MM talks about making the 70 being the real team, there’s a lot of truth to that. Just don’t tell it to the guys who made the practice squad and are gone.

That's Big. I can absolutely see it. JS strikes me as a Master at steering his way through a process keeping guys we want to keep on their 70. Has a clear picture on the pulse of the League. No doubt someone would want Cody, but he was back in the fold before anyone did anything? Sautoa was a surprise...

If JSN can't play this game changes its complexion alot: the injuries in the secondary are probably bearable thanks to the front seven but we'd still need to score in the high 20s, that's gonna be tough without him.

If it’s true that, “football games are won and lost in the trenches”, and, “the quarterback is the most important position on the field”, then the Seahawks should win this game, despite the current injuries.

Thankfully, the injuries seem to be short term. Looking forward to getting these players back in uniform.

Given where the team was at a few years ago, it’s great to say that the Seahawks can win in the trenches.

On the offensive side, hopefully. (I hear that the NO edge rushers are strong though.) On the defensive side, definitely. I absolutely love the 2025 front seven.
