Here is something I don't think you normally see. The line was 2.5 for Arizona, it has moved to 1 for Seattle. The bettors didn't like the initial line, they don't think Arizona is that good. Something similar happened with the Minnesota-Pittsburgh line. Seems like several lines had movement.
Funny side note. If Woolen would have had Jobes stats this last game with 3 penalties. There are sadly people in Seattle that would have pitchforks and torches at his door. Such an odd thing.
I want Barner to get more targets because I want to see more 12 personnel, i.e. more large guys lined up against nickel defenses so we can check down to runs when the alignment and composition of defenders is favorable
As much as I hate the Steelers and Eagles, I would say those 2 teams align with their city, or at least the perception of their city. Baltimore did until this season.
And as much as I love a tough defense, and as a resident of Seattle since 92, I don't get a tough defense vibe from this city. We would need a socially awkward, soft to almost pacifistic defense. the kind that would tackle you eventually and then help you up. I am glad our team doesn't align with our city, we would be terrible every year (until Portland got a team).
The perfect Seahawks team that fit the city personality was the team in the first 5-8 years. Scrappy over- performing underdogs that no one else in the country appreciated. One superstar (Largent) who still flew under the radar.
Except of course Seattle, and southern sister city Portland, changed and became pathetic like Tim said. Way too many Californians moved north to ruin the Pacific NW and made it less hearty. So you nailed it. Scrappy, and weird (trick play) with the highlight of Largent (Boeing/Nike).
I used to live in San Diego before moving here, and San Diego was so laid back people would leave at halftime to go somewhere else. Especially SDSU students.
So so many SB winning teams are all about being greater than the sum of their parts. Having contributors right across the field and into the benches. Then tacking in just a couple of elevating players.
I love the spread of contributions. I don't need one guy with 5 sacks, if five guys can get a sack. I don't need a TE in the endzone when 3 WRs are there catching TDs.
Right now we're on the right path. No need to change scheme or force throws or increase snaps just because. Stick to plan! It's a tried and tested path to success, with just either one or two more key additions, or one or two more players finding a little more in what they are already doing.
One thing I would add to the Seahawks special teams discussion and stellar performers, — D’Anthony Bell is a heck of a special teamer if he stays on the 53. He led the Browns in special teams snaps in 2024, and looked mighty good vs the Saints last week.
No worries. The Hawks really do have a great group of players among the backups who are very good special teamers. Desire and effort play a bigger role in special teams play than in many offensive or defensive positions. Especially with a ‘great’ special teams coach telling you what your role is on the coverage or return team. The Seahawks seem to make sure those players feel valued for giving their all out there.
He's worthy. He's been good this season and what's better, he is very close to having even better numbers. This relationship with Kubiak is very exciting.
Why fix what's not broken? To move off default, my bet is we see reserve strategies involving our TE's, starting with Barner. Arroyo's blocking is an issue as we try to set the running game, so Saubert will probably be on the field already and be a solid option for Sam under pressure (spelled 'Bradford'). Horton may be assigned DK's decoy duties, but I won't be surprised to see him breaking free consistently, becoming an obvious target. Another reason to wander off default will be what is needed against Tampa Bay in 2 weeks? We just sent the Saints into Rebuild Mode but I expect the Cards will be in pissed-off Spoiler Mode. Our big TEs would be best to face those assaults, which Ouzts won't want to miss.
I see Kupp having a big game. But there’s room for others. I think this is the week Darnold goes over 300 yards passing. (And Walker has over 100 rushing with one long explosive run of 50+.
I'd join the chat but for whatever reason I can't press the button/link. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For anyone that likes Zabel...lol 😆
Who even cares? I cheer for the laundry and don't much care who's in those jerseys.

When injuries pile in December’s cold fight,
A chance for the next man to step in the light.
The crowd starts to rumble, the moment feels cruel,
But hunger is fire that burns in O’Toole.
He’s quick off the snap, bringing chaos and speed,
The pocket collapsing, he answers the need.
Quarterbacks stumble, their options run tight—
When it’s crunch time, O’Toole rules the pass-rush duel.

Got that right. Scrappy with a mix of trick plays.
Good picks. The Pennsylvania teams make sense.
In a way so do the Dolphins. Lackadaisical and they’d rather be at the beach than playing football.

💯
A truly balanced team that can have sustainable success

After I posted I says to myself, I says..."Damn I forgot to mention Bell!"
Bell meows to me, he meows... "mewow", of course meaning don't forget me next time, Seaside Joe!
Obscure Tig Notaro reference, there. I'll be shocked if anyone gets it, which is why I absolutely had to post it.
Begaw!
Seaside Jay will be stoked when I tell her there was a tig reference in the comments today.
"... & he’ll never supplant our favorite “Jay!”'
Quoth the Seahawk, "Evermore."

Vote for Sam Darnold for Air and Ground Player of the Week! Stuff the ballot box!

Done!
He's worthy. He's been good this season and what's better, he is very close to having even better numbers. This relationship with Kubiak is very exciting.
My not so humble opinion is for Darnold to go over 300 yards this week!
If you could only pick one of these players to see more targets in Week 4, who would you pick: Cooper Kupp, Tory Horton, Elijah Arroyo, or AJ Barner?
Arroyo
Tory Horton
He could have some serious upside and his speed, field stretching abilities could be the best complement to our WR1.
But, I really like the target share since week 1. Target share was a big complaint in week 1. Think they’ve done excellent since then.
Arroyo would be the most exciting guy to see more involved, but also the least likely.
Horton.

I’d like to see more of Horton. He would also take pressure off JSN & Kupp if he became more of a threat.
Kupp. Make him a bigger threat in the offense to take pressure off of JSN.
Great minds think alike.
Elijah Arroyo, bc we need him to develop fast.
