If it does, you’re only human. In this day where anyone can be a “journalist,” it’s nice to read something written by someone who knows the difference between an adverb and an adjective.
I had to do some research to find that "....So far this season, Mason Richman is the highest-graded pass-blocking offensive lineman in all of college football per Pro Football Focus." was after 3 games into the 2024 season. Which makes me wonder how far from the top he had to fall to only get drafted in the 7th round. That I can't research since the information is behind the PFF paywall, but I would guess he fell quite a ways to end up a 7th round pick.
Nevertheless, just going by the Iowa record, one would have thought he was a decent bet just on Iowa's record alone. I wouldn't bet against him, but his athletic profile ain't impressive.
Conceivably, we have an all all pro OL sometime in the future, if they all stay and develop as a Hawk is probably less likely than that they will eventually be 5 all pros FROM our team some time in the future, but on a bunch of other teams. But it's not out of the realm of possibility that we will keep only those who will be great and let none of the future all pros find another team.
OTOH, no team could possibly pay for an all all pro OL, so I guess, if we have wishes, we won;t wish for that.
Not murderes row, with Iowa State being the only decent competition, but I didnt look to see how good they or their pass rush were. So, the original rating seems to have had a fair enough chance of being inflated.
I like his story. He is still relatively new to the position. Seems like he sought out coaching and teammates to learn from, and dudes with kind of desire, humility, and coachability can improve quite a bit. I'm excited to see how his story unfolds and whether JS and staff can identify the best guys to keep and continue to develop. With Benton here, I now have more confidence they will.
Thanks for the good positive information. I enjoy hearing about our late round picks. You have to root for them. The odds of making the team are slim. But some have been overlooked and deserve a chance at big time ball!
Any Seahawks content that has a pic of Mr. Rogers (and NOT the idiot QB of Pittsburgh) gets a huge REC from me. We could all use a bit more Mr. Rogers in our lives. ;-)
Sorry, I had a copy/paste error in the middle of the article that I overlooked. Won't happen again.

Hall and Oates...right on.
OMG it went right over my head until after I read your comment. 🤦♂️
I guess I can't rely on my old man's money (or brains) anymore.
