Nick Emmanwori starts camp on PUP

The Seahawks placed 3 players on the injury list already

Days after rookie Deven Eastern became the first Seahawks to be placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list, three more joined him, including one of the most important players on the team: On Monday, Seattle placed S Nick Emmanwori, RB Kenny McIntosh, and CB Tyrone Broden on PUP.

The moves could have no long-term consequences, players are eligible to return from PUP at any time during training camp. However, if any of them do not get activated prior to final cuts, they will be required to miss at least the first four games of the season.

Emmanwori’s injury, which remains a mystery, must have happened during or after OTAs. McIntosh and Broden were already known to be recovering from previous injuries.

Already one of Seattle’s biggest stars, Emmanwori could not be happy about starting camp on PUP. Less than a year ago, Emmanwori was all set for his first season when he got hurt on almost the first play of Week 1 and ended up missing an entire month of experience and development. It was a setback that Mike Macdonald mentioned at the time, and now Emmanwori is dealing with something again.

It’s difficult to say how important this is because nobody outside of the organization knows what happened.

McIntosh’s place on PUP is far less surprising. The running back seems to get hurt every year and is in an uphill battle for a spot on the 53-man roster this year, a climb that just got even steeper.

Eastern and Broden also had previously known injuries. Neither is widely expected to make the final roster, but would be highly likely additions to the practice squad.
