I’m pretty pumped about how good we can be this year, but given the competition, I had to choose door number 2. Once there, my optimism kept bubbling up. And you’re right, I’ll be most interested in seeing the results and how different the questions are for each group.

Love this poll, Seaside Joe!! I'm ever the optimist. New season, new people everywhere, new smiles, new beliefs. As Coach Mac said at his first day of practice, "It's like Christmas, man." GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!

I think the Seahawks will be a much better team at the end of the season than they will be through the first quarter to half of the season. The Seahawks could prove me wrong and I hope they do, but I have not seen a team have this much coaching turnover and be good right out of the gate.

This is exactly where I'm at. If they are good right away I'm not going to complain though.

They will get progressively better as the players get more used to the new O and D schemes. Still need help at LB. and maybe RT. if Lucas can't go.

Look for 12 to 13 wins in 25.

Why this was a great poll, IMHO, is because my enthusiasm was really rocking in the beginning of the poll. Started with the 11-6+ poll. Then I got to the section on the O Line and it stopped me dead in my tracks. Then I began to think. Then I erased all my answers and thunk some more. Then I came to the determined belief that 11-6(+) is absolutely on the mark for the season and has a legit shot at getting to the NFC championship game. And if we have a legit shot at getting to that game? We got a real shot at winning that game. Don't stop believing.......

I had high expectations last year until I saw the team would not give Frisco so much as a threat. I bitched out Geno for it, but came to see it was Carroll's guidance he followed exactly. After Wilson, Pete wanted a guy who followed The Plan exactly. (In part, I wanted to see how Lock could LEAD a team. My bet is he will do very well with the Giants). This year, by the time we meet the Niners in Game 6, we will have a solid measure of MM's first year. Going up against 2 of the best Coaches in Football and considering the fits he gave them both last year, he has his work cut out for his first year as Coach. Given the same personnel, they won't be fooled twice, but then we aren't those same guys. Mack will have 5 games to establish a Dream Team presence. After last year's bitter disappointments, I expect our players will hit the field hard in this regard. But so will the Rams and Cards. This next Super Bowl will go through our West. Enjoy the ride, Friends and Neighbors!

Love this idea for a survey format, should give a way more varied perspective with groupings like this

Door #1. Geno is awesome and the new coaches are even more so. Eleven wins in the regular season and two more playoff wins.

Hmmm sounds like I may have been in the minority, was in the middle box on expectations:

- so many new coaches and players, difficult (considering 6 games in our division) to get to 11 wins

- still worried about the OL -- not hearing rave reviews about Charles Cross, and the rest of the OL is pretty new, albeit if we get Connor Williams he might be worth a full add'l win. And if Abe Lucas plays say half the season, prob could argue me to 11 wins

- will DK become a distraction deeper into the year as he finagles for an extension (perhaps in the best interests of the 'Hawks too, with that $29m cap hit sitting there for 2025)

- depth at LB and safety makes me nervous (injuries)

I'm more excited than I have been in a while because of the new coaching changes. The coaching felt like it had run its course the last 6 seasons. I think this team needed a massive change in coaching and we completely overhauled our coaching staff. I'm looking forward to seeing what Macdonald can do.

I think we will go 10-7. I think we might start off slow and lose to teams we are expected to win against because of our rookie coaches. I think as the season progresses, we will end up beating teams that we thought we wouldn't be able to beat.

I think the Seahawks will surprise. I think the Rams are overrated and the 49ers will suffer the Super Bowl losers slump. Arizona might actually get 2nd in the division, behind the Hawks.

I agree on the 49ers. You could tell they considered themselves at peak performance last year. I hope they can shake off this destiny trap and go even harder. Football teaches nothing is Written.

I took no better than 10 wins because I think they'll push the 49'ers and Rams harder this year, but they could still go 0-4 or 1-3 against them. I'm happy to be wrong though. I think 2025 is more likely to be the turning point.

Since I can best be described as “Glass is always at least three-quarters full” guy, I chose 11 wins or better. That’s just me. Heck I even thought the team would do well in the Erickson years. (Oops!)

I’ve finally come around to being OK with Pete being fired. It took some time, but after looking at some of the video clips SSJ has given us on MM’s defense last year and how it works, I’m completely on board with a new coaching regime. I’m way more pumped about Grubb running the offense than I ever was with Waldron at the wheel.

The big caveat for me is injuries. At least our O line is set up to better handle them if they come. Much better depth.

Love how you’re doing this survey. It keeps us from all gathering in the middle.

I appear, in these comments, so far, to be the token pessimist. OK. We have a new offensive system from a college coach who's got no NFL experience. We have a new head coach/DC installing his new system. We have fundamentally different special teams rules. It seems more probable than not to me that things will go wrong. It won't all install smoothly, adjustments won't always work...AND that the coaches will discover that the players they inherited/drafted/brought in as free agents can't do the job they need done. Further, if memory serves (and it doesn't) the Seahawks haven't had major season-ending injuries for a while. Just one of those, in what I perceive to be a fragile ecosystem, can transform the season. Two on the OL and Geno's in trouble. I'd love to be wrong. I am often wrong. But if we're betting (and I wouldn't) preseason based on nothing yet on the field, my bet is we're lucky to finish 9-8. Really lucky. What I hope for this season is that the team buys in, like the Lions did a couple years back, and finishes resolute and strong, regardless their record. I want to see them fight, and fight smart, all the way to the end. I want to see exactly how smart these young coaches.are, and how adaptable. I want to see our penalties go down. I know it's not a rebuilding year (ahem), but it is a feeling out process.

You're not the only one. I picked 7 wins or fewer. I don't know if I actually think that, or just see it as a strong enough of a possibility this season to want to be braced for it. Entire turnover of coaching staff is enough of a gamble, but add in a first time head coach and coordinators at the NFL level, and they would seem bound to have some growing pains. And we simply aren't as talented as teams like the 49ers.

I hope we can create a 2023 Ravenesque defense, but that might take more than a single year. If they sign Connor Williams and we get a report that Abe Lucas is completely healed when he's ready, just those two could make a tremendous difference on offense. I'm just braced for a bumpy ride lest everything not work out best case scenario.
