Whether you prefer an aggressive approach at the trade deadline or a conservative one, the Seahawks are probably going to try and make a move by next Tuesday whether you agree with it or not.
I wonder if Miami would consider parting with Jordyn Brooks. The guy is still a tackling machine. I know our iLB's are playing well (especially EJ) but if he were to ever get injured, Tyrice would have to step in. I think JS would have liked to re-sign Brooks, but we kind of lost him during the negotiations with Leo. Miami won yesterday, so they might not be as keen to be sellers, but they should be.
A little off subject but I watched the Steelers vs the Pack tonight and, (wouldn't ya know it) one of the Steelers got into DK's head and he (DK) got flagged for 15 yd. penalty. The replay show he clearly deserved it. Glad he not getting penalties for the "Hawks anymore. Now, that was a good trade. Go Hawks!!!
He doesn't just get those penalties, he gets them at such critical times.....just as he did while he was a Seahawk. And then he's absolutely unapologetic about it....or at least while he was a Seahawk he was. Did see his post-game comments from yesterday.
Like the SSJ post earlier this week comparing JSN and DK's penalties, DK's penalty tonight happened on a critical drive, making it 3rd and 17 instead of 3rd and 2. Rodgers was sacked on the next play. That was pretty much game.
Probably the play with the biggest shift in win probability. Steelers were down by 10, but 10:30 left in the 4th. Convert the 3rd and 2 and you have a chance to make it a one score game with lots of time still the to play. Even a field goal makes it a 7 point game. Instead that penalty is a drive killer, and the packers score to make it a 13 point game on their drive. It’s inexcusable, but something that will continue to happen over and over. Thank the stars we flushed that turd.
I really like Cosby but I thought he was injured and untradeable to be any help this season. If he can come back in the next 2 or 3 games, he would be a perfect addition and wouldn't cost too much in draft compensation. If we could obtain a used tackling dummy for future Hall of Famer Anthony Bradford we should make the deal asap.
Some depth at WR. and ILB would be a good move. I still think JS will trade for an upgrade at RG.at the deadline. Because of the recent injuries in the secondary, Woolen stays.
On the Raiders, Jackson Powers-Johnson is a player Danno has mentioned a few times. I agree, this could be a good trade. He is young with upside and has the athleticism that Bradford does not.
Really nice athletic profile. 5 flat 40. 32in vertical. 104in broad. Good agility. So a very different profile to AB. Theoretically a good outside zone scheme fit. I don't know what the Raiders are trying to do offensively, but if it's gap/power he may not be the best fit. He's not a bruiser, he's more of a mover. Positional versatility as well, and has played some guard and center when in Oregon. If his head is screwed on right, Benton might be able to get him squared away and ready to go.
Crosby is not on injured reserve and so there is not anything preventing the Raiders from moving him if they wanted to. The Raiders owner has been very adamant they have no interest in trading their star player. I believe him and don't see a trade happening. If they will not trade Meyers, who has been very vocal about wanting out, why would they trade Crosby who seems like a team player?
I don’t see a need (for a likely available player) to trade. Except for IOL which are almost never dealt mid-season. I think this year will be boring—JS prove me wrong!
Cool to look back and see that we had the best trade deadline move the last two years. These are the types of insights that keep me coming back to SSJ, nice job Ken.
A couple comments about Jones last year. First, we had a clear weakness at starting ILB last year, a hole, and JS filled it. I don’t see any similar need on D this year - which makes me think a D side move would be smaller, for depth, rather than a big name move. Unless we move a guy who we’re giving up on and getting a replacement back - Woolen a possibility, as discussed, but why trade our reject for someone else’s?
If we get another position back for Woolen, offense is where we have a real chance to step up the starting talent, so that suggests OG or RB. Much speculation on this, I don’t have more to add.
2nd comment about the Jones deal - JS/MM saw him close-up at the organized scrimmage with the Titans. So I have to ask - what gems did we see in GB this year? Of course, the Pack is in playoff contention rather than selling mode, so maybe less possibilities there for us.
Lastly, relationships often matter in the trade game - JS & Pete for instance. With the Ravens dumpster fire, who could MM want to grab over there while they possibly look toward future draft picks?
I don't see any trade for a starting Lineman. For Bradfords issues, I don't see a back-up out there i'd have over him/Richman/Cabeldue/Sundell/Haynes (wow, we have some crazy O-Line depth combinations. And of the "sellers", none have a notable RG i'd sell out to get. A lot of fans malign Bradford (and Sundell to an extent) but it's been working well enough, and unless we somehow could get Lindstrom we won't be making that big a difference for the outlay.
To go over the top with a difference maker, hard to look past Crosby. Hendrickson isn't moving, like it's just not happening, the Bengals are somehow keeping their season alive in wait for Burrow to return. The Raiders season isn't completely cooked but it's going nowhere fast. I'm not sure Maxx will move, that updated ownership structure needs desperately to keep fans onside and shipping off their best defender & fans favorite player would be disastrous and condemning their PC experiment to one-and-done. I want Maxx but no, not happening.
Forgetting the KK-Saints link, the Saints are one of the easier teams to get players out of. Carl Granderson would be a useful pick-up to add further complexity to the pass rush. Doesn't help their dire cap situation that well to trade him but they need anything they can get. We can afford the cost this season, then try to look at a restructure. Might not cost that much in draft capitol either.
The other Saints player i like (besides Olave, but i don't see them trading him, nor do i want to pay that cost of a First as a minimum either), Rashid Shaheed. I like Horton a ton, but he is still developing and Shaheed would be a significant WR3 upgrade making the offense completely nightmarish to cover (more so if Arroyo continues to rise). Easily affordable now, would need to be extended pretty quickly, but as an in-house way to cover off letting Kupp go it'd work and only benefit our own financials. Might be comparatively costly in compensation to the Saints but i think he'd be a sneaky good way to elevate the offense.
The biggest weakness on the team is RG. There may be two opportunities to upgrade. Jackson Powers Johnson could be an interesting long term play, but questionable in the near term. On the other hand Kevin Zietler could be a VERY interesting short term play. The Titans are going nowhere and may take something like a 5th for him. He’d be a huge upgrade over BADford. If JS really thinks our window is open this year Zeitler would be a great rental…
JS on a roll with trade deadline moves! Leo was risky since it might have been a 1/2 year rental for a 2nd and 5th round pick, if that recollection is correct. But a steal with the extension. Ditto E Jones!
My feeling is, and has been that the Hawks are true contenders feeling they were a 12 win team in April at the schedule release and a 13 win team after the last preseason game. Because of this, I would not trade Woolen as despite my feeling he will not be extended by the Seahawks. He is a decent cover corner and has height and length to play big X receivers our back up don’t have, or in Shaq’s case, is slowing down and is a potential liability.
I’m not a fan of a big move, with the possible exception of guard. I would target Jackson Powers Johnson on the Raiders, who has fallen out of favor. I don’t know what the Seahawks think of him, but if they had a positive evaluation of him, and Benton thinks he’s a fit for the hawks, his youth makes him a potential long term solution and short term improvement on the O-line.
Back at the end of the pre-season, I was throwing out a trade for Mazi Smith, NT on the Cowboys, but I no longer see this as a real need.
Whatever JS decides to do, I will get 100% behind it. I think he’s earned it. I was for extending Geno, but I dropped him like a hot potato when JS decided to trade him. I’d be a fool to think I know better than JS, - or SSJ for that matter.
I'm not sure who would want Russell. He was run out of Denver, and there were many reports Pittsburgh had no desire to re-sign him after last year. Not a very well liked guy. He's a QB so there's always a market, but given his recent track record, I'm not sure that there would be any interested parties.
Maybe his attitude and likeability changes when he resigns himself to the idea that he is no longer a high-level starting QB. He would need to humble himself and take a bridge job or a backup job
Pete signing Lockett. He’s predictable if nothing else.
I wonder if Miami would consider parting with Jordyn Brooks. The guy is still a tackling machine. I knew the bengals were doomed as soon as I wrote that they would beat the jets.
Another loss next week and they could be sellers.
Any given Sunday....
I was happy to see Fields bounce back, especially after the comments from the Jets owner. I hope his crow goes down well.
I'm sure it will. It has been a staple in his diet for years, now!
49ers lose. Yippie ki yay mother f.....well you all know the rest.
The Texans had way more success with the running game against the 9'ers front than they did against ours. Night and day difference.
Night and day. Just like the comparison that will be made between our 1st game this year vs them and our upcoming last!
AND the result!
Even when we don't play, we win.
I really like Cosby but I thought he was injured and untradeable to be any help this season. Thanks for the info . Outside of Cosby, who would bring them a decent return for the future?
On the Raiders, Jackson Powers-Johnson is a player Danno has mentioned a few times. I agree, this could be a good trade. He is young with upside and has the athleticism that Bradford does not.
Question about Powers-Johnson: Is his style a better fit for the Kubiak system?
I have no idea, but this seems to be the biggest factor when underperforming players find success.
Anyone on here know about this topic?
Really nice athletic profile. 5 flat 40. 32in vertical. 104in broad. Good agility. So a very different profile to AB. Theoretically a good outside zone scheme fit. Thanks! That’s exactly the kind of response I was hoping for.

I am not really seeing anyone.
Linderbaum, center, would be a good get but I would be shocked if the Ravens did not extend him.
I don't think they'd move him either. Given how hard good offensive linemen are to find, why would you cough up a really good one?
Yep, he is very very good and very young.
I took a look at the Ravens cap situation. Man, Jackson has a $74 million cap hit for 2026 and 2027.
I don't see any trade for a starting Lineman. I think that Shane Lemieux might actually be ahead of Richman/Cabeldue/Haynes. He’s on the practice squad but currently injured.
Thanks for dubbing the NFL's "insider" spoon-fed rumor-mongers Adam Schefter and Ian Rappaport as: Scheftaport.
Brilliant!
Bitonio from the Browns

I'd rather get Skoronski, but I doubt they'd move on from him.
This will sound bizarre but how about Eric McCoy from the Saints -- although he's zero help ths year
C’mon Schneider. Surprise me. In a good way!

Go Hawks!
I do see Russell Wilson being moved. When he comes in for even a play he is booed ceaselessly.
The Seahawks missed out on clowney that is doing well for Dallas. Pass rush is always a need. But I don’t see LV or Cleveland moving anyone.
I am a bit worried about WR depth. Kupp does not have much left in the tank so another vet would be nice.
I expect the 49ers and the Rams to be active.
I'm not sure who would want Russell. He was run out of Denver, and there were many reports Pittsburgh had no desire to re-sign him after last year. Not a very well liked guy. He's a QB so there's always a market, but given his recent track record, I'm not sure that there would be any interested parties.
Dallas perhaps ? Dak does not have a great track record of staying healthy. A team looking for cheap insurance with a vet.
Ha! Dallas would be perfect! Jerry deserves him.
Maybe his attitude and likeability changes when he resigns himself to the idea that he is no longer a high-level starting QB. He would need to humble himself and take a bridge job or a backup job
Love to see him in Arizona, we could beat him twice a year!
