The starting O line played 100%. Price and Holani were 50/50. 3 WR and 3 TE saw action.
Love was 100%, Spoon, Jobe and Thomas were 99%. Pritchett was 75%. Nwosu was only 46%, seems like he was out there more than that. Mills was 23%, 16 snaps, pretty good for as inexperienced as he is. Knight played 20%, 14 snaps.
Pencil him in for the Chargers game, we won't need him against the Moons. Heck, odds are strong we won't need him for the Chargers as we await their O-Line to spontaneously combust (again), their primary receivers to spontaneously combust (again), their dynamic running back to spontaneously combust (again) and their defence to - you guessed it - spontaneously combust (again)!. If there is one team in the NFL who i trust to spontaneously combust it's the Chargers (tied with the 49ers). By Week 4 they could be walking glass skeletons onto 5th stringers.
I wish this was an exaggeration. There's no NFL fan i feel as much empathy for as a Chargers fan. Their teams are often so good and so deeply cursed.
Those stats are a lot better than I was expecting. The comment I planned on leaving, is how much I feel like Lock is best in the last minute call up role. The adrenaline is pumping, he doesn’t think, he reacts, so his best traits come out. I feel like (which looks to be disproved above) that when he knows he’s the starter, he tries to force things more. If he has accepted that he is a backup, and just go out there and do what the OC says, we should be in a great place.
BTW who was in love with how Price ran??? He looked like KW but actually tried to hit the hole he was told to. He will help Lock a lot.
I'm seeing it as a Dance with our O-Line. Price appears better at staying on script than K9, but once loaded on, he carries the pile a ways. The kid has a ton of tread not worn down in college. I recall Sundell coming in late to help him move a few extra yards after he was held up. That Play will get a lot of reviews.
For the Cards, Brissett is not much of a rusher so we should not have the problems with him breaking out of the pocket. With the Moons, Daniels rushed for 891 yards in 2024. I could see him causing us problems if he has as much open field as Drake did.
Glad we won. For Maye, that was like Sam's Ram game last year. A learning experience to be sure. Hopefully he will bounce back and beat up the rest of the AFC for us.
The Selfless Leadership character of this Team indicates Sam will be sincerely happy with 3 weeks off while Drew gets some most-earned time behind Center. I fully expect we will learn to relax if we need Drew to stand in again. What is crucial is the chemistry Sam and Shaheed worked so hard to improve this last 7 months. 3 weeks should be nothing. A Road Game should help our defense verbally communicate on the field, whereas Home Games are not rookie friendly. Speaking in hand signs may be a task too far? We did see receivers wide open more than once yesterday. Kudos to the Barn and Seifert for blocking to get JSN downfield 41 yards!
Come to think about it, who better than Drew and Sam to talk with The Guys about what shit-teams are actually like? No doubt Drew gets the One-Ups-Man Award though.
Note the Teams he was asked to lead soon lost their Coaches, indicating big problems elsewhere. His Journeyman's Level play is right up MM's alley. Now the secret is out, we can expect he'll be gone next year unless he decides he's a trueblue Hawk. JS is prepared, in any event, with our young QB-in-waiting.

Or later on Cards/Raiders at home followed by the bye week. We actually have two "get healthy" windows in our schedule before we hit the various gauntlets.
If we get Emmanwori and Okada back, I’m confident Lock can lead us to victory over the Cards and Moons. It would be nice to have Darnold back for the Chargers, but I think there’s a chance Lock can beat them too.
