It was also reported that Darnold played almost the whole game Monday night with a cracked rib. Ouch!

This is so unfair that it's funny. Darnold, you play all the tough teams. Lock, you get the sub-500 teams. Let's see who looks better at the end of the year.

Sam did get the Commanders and Chargers...

Well, they said he also has a cracked rib, so there's that. I believe he's truly hurt with rib and quad.

I have believed since his injury, he has not been quite right. His footwork is all screwed up, and I believe he was protecting his lower back. He is hurt now again and lock plague well when given the opportunity so why not start him? They need to decide on him as well if they want to extend his contract.

To quote the Church Lady, "How conveeenient!"

Maybe this is why we went so run heavy in the fourth quarter?

Put Lock in the game if Sam's hurt and we need to throw.

Feels like we’ve arrived at the point where we can start wondering if Sam will be extended or even retained next year.

Basically the money is $19M dead cap to cut him and $22M saved, if I read the contract terms right. Could make sense to keep him for those numbers, but the injury-riddled season with Geno-like interception numbers may not bring that offseason extension. But of course, with QBs, it’s always a question of whether there are any realistic better choices in the market.

And, I also wonder, if the season continues to devolve, do we take the Ferrari out of the garage for a few games at season end (Rams <gulp>)? And since Drew’s elbow is not 100% and the O-line sucked the collective wrath of humanity last game . . . the Ferrari is already gassed up and ready for this game, right? (Was in the team shop last week and there’s a whole rack of Milroe jerseys just waiting for buyers.). Poor Fleury, the packages he has to juggle are even more of a challenge and he’ll get more blame if they don’t work.

The hits just keep on comin'. But I think Sam has looked hurt all year, and he's taken a beating every game so I don't mind giving him a break. Shame for him the Drew will get a crappy defense again and likely get the fans clamoring for him to start.

HooAh. Smart ball all around. It may be The Guys who decide what is worth fighting for? They are NOT automaton robots. This time Drew gets a week to prep and our O-Line gets to find their rythym with one another. Clock in some OT, fella's. If Lock does well, I expect we shall see MM run him until his back-up would be the best option. I don't recall any Team ever doing this as normal procedure. That is one pattern I'd like to see implemented.

I watched the game again and Sam did have people open. He just did not throw it to them. It is not the first time either there is definitely a lack of trust.

I wonder what the level of concern is if Lock’s elbow is not ready to go? Milroe will take more snaps than usual for a backup QB this week per MM’s press conference. I think the O-line will play better having had one real game together for the first time. They should improve as they get more time together.

I'd still like to see AB on the right until Grey can prove the coaches he deserves to be there in practice.
