Teven Jenkins, Kevin Zeitler, Mehki Becton -- or Brandon Scherff if you want a Laken Tomlinson re-run. That's it at this point.

Or a trade like we just saw for Kenyon Green.

The ENTIRE fan base is watching, Mr Schneider

And now as it turns out, Kenyon Green was "gettable", certainly to fill the void that Becton will be leaving.

That's how this is done Mr. Schneider, you don't f... around with the OL/DL.

My mailbox is overflowing with mail from Kenneth Arthur! OMG, Oh, my gosh.

Well, if Sam Darnold is as good as he was during the last regular season then this is a major bargain, and he may even be better than Geno. But if he wilts under pressure like he did in the playoffs then we may regret a three year deal. More reason to shore up the OL. Even bad QB's look good with good time to throw.

Finally could get off work to come read up. And thank you thank you thank you for posting about sack rate and that it is a QB stat. Been saying it for eons (ok mostly from when Wilson took over and was, and still does, take so many sacks). Agreed. Cheaper by about $10 mil. 7 years younger. 3rd round pick. Well for all those that complain about the OLine, you pay high percentage to your QB you can’t pay other spots. We have $10 mil we didn’t have. Like with DK. That trade basically allowed signing for 2 starting d players (Jones & JReed). Now Darnold and a decent veteran IOL? I’ll take it. And a 3rd rounder.

yah, i would really like people to start associating sacks with QBs more than they do.

Do I remember correctly that PC was very interested in Sam when he was drafted and would have loved to have him with the Seahawks?

I think it was John Schneider, which would line up with this week's events. Pete going for Geno and John going for Sam. Maybe I'm mistaken.

Well played John S.! I'm bouncing in my recliner and my dog's going nuts! WHOOP, WHOOP!! With a great opportunity to keep Sam verticle with a top five O-line with the cap and draft embarfassement of riches to add an awsome TE and WR(s), combined with a favorable schedule, I foresee a kick ass Offense in 2025. Add a great Edge and another run stuffer to give Jarren and Byron an occassional breather on Defense and visions of Superbowl dance in my noggin. GO MAC-HAWKS!

It's a bigger number than i'd hoped for, but is still well within the ok range - and crucially it's less than Geno would have been on and less than he wanted in an extension. So there we go, we've swapped Coke for Pepsi. And when you look at some of the other deals going on, it's a relatively solid pick-up.

Eyes on the Linemen now. The Banks deal from the Packers was high, we need help but we can't overpay like that! Dalman unsurprisingly also out of price range.

If you have a working run game, you need to throw a heck of a lot less in a short field ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Make Sams life easier by capitalising on our two 2nd Rd RB's who have more than shown they have the talent. Or maybe get our former 1st Rd TE playing like, well, a 1st Rd TE.

We can do that with a combination of an NFL calibre OC (sorry Grubb) and fixing our LG problem - so lets see that next FA signing JS!

The big lift is still the OL, both better run blocking and pass protection. I'll argue that between Bradford, Olu and Haynes, at least two must take a big step forward. A great FA or trade is fine but true depth is still needed. And we need bigger bodies (Bradford at 330 seems almost undersized these days).

I think they will. Another year. Better OLine coaches. College kids just not ready for NFL. JS couldn’t get a decent IOL at his cash strapped rates so he keeps drafting cheap OLine hoping for a diamond. Abe an example. Now better coaches and we can see hopefully Laumea and Olu even better.

WOW! What next, change the team colors? replace the Sea Gals with scottish Bagpipers? I'm really excited that they are making big moves vs trying to nickel and dime their way to a better future.

Of course no guarantee that this won't lead to a 8 and 9 season, but as the great one once said, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Here's my big Q: looking ahead, can we say how these moves will affect their position for the 2026 draft? I'd like to see them have the opportunity to draft their QB of the future there.

I'd sure be on board to the Scottish Bagpipers!!

They are only beginning to add players...we've got a draft ahead and more free agent signings, I expect.

I'm being an optimist I suppose, but I think the 2026 draft just got worse. Worse than the 2025 draft anyway, maybe not worse than it was last week. I'm thinking 12 wins.

Real BIG news here. Year one cap hit for Darnold’s contract is $14 million. We have a sh*t ton of money left. Hey JS, hurry up before the Bears strike again! Can anyone confirm this cap number?

I think it’s looking more like a 2 years deal $27.5 million guaranteed for each year paid out over 3 years. If we keep him around for year 3 it gets expensive. This is what some people are saying. I guess he wants to play for Kubiak. Maybe he feels his value will go up if he can duplicate last year’s performance again, and he feels more comfortable doing that in Kubiak’s system?

$55mil guaranteed is cheap if it's for any more than 1yr. I like it. We get a guy who can manage the game and bridge us to a QBOTF, with upside possibility if he can dup last year's REGULAR season. If JS's plan is to get beef up front and lean on the back field, he fits the bill, most importantly the BILL
