Sea Thoughts
What if the younger options win their starting position battles for the Seahawks this year? What would Seattle’s offensive and depth charts look like?
QB - Russell Wilson, 32
RB - Chris Carson, 26
No change at starter, but you could argue DeeJay Dallas (22) over Rashaad Penny (25) as main backup.
WR - Tyler Lockett, 28
WR - DK Metcalf, 23
WR - Freddie Swain, 22
Just remember that the point of this exercise is to favor youth over likelihood. D’Wayne Eskridge is 24 — older than Metcalf — so in this case he loses out the number three spot to Swain, a player who isn’t entering camp with the mentality to be a team’s number five or six receiver.
TE - Colby Parkinson, 22
Will Dissly (24) would also come ahead of Gerald Everett (26) in the rotation. Signing Everett was no endorsement of Parkinson, but it also doesn’t take last year’s fourth round pick out of the competition. I expect this to be Dissly, some expect Everett, nobody expects Parkinson.
LT - Duane Brown, 35
LG - Gabe Jackson, 29
C - Ethan Pocic, 25
RG - Damien Lewis, 24
RT - Jamarco Jones, 25
I simply can’t take Brown and Jackson out of the equation when Seattle doesn’t have viable options to replace. They made commitments to those players, I won’t go crazy and put Stone Forsythe in there just because of his age. The difference with Swain and Parkinson is that they’re beating out unproven players.
Pocic actually is the youngest (and best) center on the roster. Jones here would be beating out Brandon Shell and Cedric Ogbuehi, both pushing 30.
DE - Darrell Taylor, 24
DT - Poona Ford, 25
DT - Robert Nkemdiche, 26
DE - Alton Robinson, 23
I’m going against my own rules here for the defensive line, so take that! Carlos Dunlap and Kerry Hyder will almost certainly “start” but is it crazy to think that by December, Taylor and Robinson will have more snaps? The good news for Seattle is that I think this means they have some of the best depth along the edges of any team in the NFL. Not even mentioned here are Benson Mayowa, Rasheem Green, L.J. Collier, Aldon Smith, Al Woods, and Bryan Mone.
LB - Bobby Wagner, 30
LB - Jordyn Brooks, 23
Self-explanatory and Cody Barton (24), Ben Burr-Kirven (23) represent youthful depth and the likely reason that K.J. Wright remains a free agent.
CB - D.J. Reed, 24
CB - Ahkello Witherspoon, 26
CB - Tre Brown, 23
It’s a big ass competition and Reed, Witherspoon seem most likely to come out ahead. Surprisingly, Damarious Randall is only 28. Tre Flowers is 26.
FS - Marquise Blair, 23
SS - Jamal Adams, 25
Age is part of the reason you trade for Adams. He’s got a lot of football ahead of him. A healthy Blair could be the Seahawks’ breakout defensive player of 2021 and it would potentially facilitate Quandre Diggs’ exit in 2022.

The Rover (2014)
Robert Pattinson - Guy Pearce - Dystopian future - Australia
Did I like it? I started this movie a few years ago and didn’t finish it, but I think that was because I was drinking at the time. This time I finished it and I loved it.
