From your research Ken, you said awhile back, this year was not a good year for drafting a QB because the 1st round quality talent wasn't there. Just a few days ago Dave Wyman also said that this is a poor year for drafting a QB.
Yes, it is a bad year. I followed the QBs in college week after week, ranked them, and it's been clear for a long time--with no room for debate--that 2023 class is miles ahead of 2022. And that 2022 could be the worst since 2014. People who aren't as clear on the 2022 draft prospects are pushing a different narrative, but it won't make these players better prospects.
That’s a great article Kenneth, thank you. Tremendously excited about the changes over the next two seasons - cavernous cap space and a bumper bag of picks. I too hope they go LT, as finding franchise LTs in free agency is impossible. Tool up the DL through FA, and bring in Trubisky (everyone looks garbage in Chicago) to battle Lock in training camp. I’m more than ready to sit tight and watch some hungry rooks go at it, and wait to take another leap forward in 2023.
Thanks Johnny! I agree 100%--this is such an EXCITING time and that's nothing against Russ or pretending that the Seahawks won't be much worse in the interim, he wanted to go to a different situation so he's happy with this move obviously--but I believe fans want to experience all facets of being a football team and the rebuilding phase is both terrifying and exhilarating.
I hope you’re right. A lock down OT would be my first choice or a super disruptive defensive lineman. Start with the trenches and move out from there. QB should be one of the last pieces, unless there is a diamond in the rough QB available in round 3 or later. I know those don’t usually work, but Wilson and Brady prove it’s at least possible. Any QB coming out of a college spread offense is a risk moving to Pete’s system.
And here's another thing, Bryant: Look at the Bengals. People might say, "They drafted Joe Burrow! They got a QB before they got a WR or a OT!" But actually, in Zac Taylor's first season with the Bengals, Cincinnati drafted Jonah Williams--an offensive tackle--with their first round pick. The Seahawks have no tackles. They probably aren't signing Duane Brown and even if they for some reason did, his career is near the end. The choice is clear!
You are (hopefully) 100% correct. I HATE mock drafts. Willis. Please, NO. Wait until 2023. Move up and get Neal if the 'mock' drafts are incorrect with the Jags taking him.
any chance Kapernick wants to come toSeattle?

Get Jordan Davis. A once in a generation DT. Pick him with pick 9.
Imagine telling a fan that the Seahawks could add Vince Wilfork at 21. Who's going to be mad at that? Nobody.

So many tackles, so few quarterbacks! How could they mock anything else????
