I like the order. The top three are the only guys that have a reasonable expectation to play themselves into a big multi-year contract, whether with the Hawks or someone else. If the first two can stay healthy all year, they are probably good enough to cash in. Poona is already there, but if he gets 5+ sacks this year he takes it to another level maybe. I don't see anyone else being very likely to sign as an obvious starter with us or another team.
The way Homer gets more jacked each year, he may carve a market for him as a FB / 3rd down RB hybrid. He's also an elite special teamer. Maybe he gets some snaps as a fullback this year, especially since we may run a lot and more blocking is always helpful.
FB? Dude isn't big enough to run over a LB blocking to get Ken another yard. Wish he were, then, he'd be punishing LBs as he runs at them instead of around them.
Penny seems like he is very loyal to the Seahawks, as they stuck with him when most might not of. I think he will have a good year and Seattle will pay him well and he will accept half a million less. I think he is greatful and so are the Hawks
Free agents vs the draft is always the consideration, and of course it makes a big difference how the season unfolds.
I saw a tweet from you that "at least the Seahawks won't be drafting a RB next year in the first two rounds" but I can easily imagine a scenario where the Seahawks trade down with one of the 2 1s and 2 2s and pickup a QB, WR, DT, DE and a RB in their first 5 picks. Penny... if he has a really great season he is going to want to be paid, if Walker is ready to be RB1 it won't make sense to do that.
In the no priority there is a slim chance Justin Cleman or Artie Burns is here next year. Nick Ballore is a Pete favorite, I am still flummoxed with what we are doing for linebacker depth this year ?
I did think we would be playing a lot of dime and using 3 or 4 safeties. And all that I read above makes sense, however one injury and your hand is forced. I feel Seattle is still looking for one more able body at LB. It is nice to see the concept upgraded. Let's hope the offense is able to add many different looks.
The fact that the Hawks didn't bring in additional LB depth after cuts must indicate that the new-look defense isn't going to feature very many 2 ILB formations. I'm just recycling what I've read elsewhere, but it seems reasonable given what we're seeing to expect a lot of "big nickel" type of formations with Brooks, 2 OLBs, and 5 DBs. I'd feel better if we had a non-Bellore backup, but I don't think it's going to matter as much as we've all been fearing. If something happens to Brooks there's Barton, and if they both go down, we're kinda screwed but we've got a bunch of safeties we like.
Apparently the draft is supposedly strong at QB. What are the other strong positions in 2023?
Agree that another LB is necessary. What about a better than average center?
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Penny is the one to watch I reckon, so long as he stays healthy.
Penny and maybe Haynes, depending on how they play this year. None of the rest scream “vital cog on a Super Bowl team.”

I like Gilbert's take here:

I’d add that a 7-10 team can only fill so many holes in a single off season.

yes. That is what I was referencing in my comment. just couldn't remember where I read it.

Or are they gonna use Adam's as a hybrid LB / Safety like they did with Bam, Cam ?
exactly. in a 5 DB formation I'd expect Adams to be the guy playing the line of scrimmage, rushing the QB, etc. Basically running downhill a lot
