Once again friends, you tell me who gets injured and for how long and I'll tell you who goes to the SB! And on any given Sunday......The trap games always worry me.

I think Thursday games are just too crazy.

Almost makes more sense to change TNF to Tuesday..

Yesterdays certainly was.

We've got some good players coming back from injuries while other teams seem to be adding to their list. I don't wish injuries on other teams, but I do wish we can stay relatively healthy. That might be in part because of our youth movement. I like our odds right now. Go Hawks!

Are we sure the Rams are good? Barely beat Houston. Made Tennessee look like an actual NFL team. Lost to Philly while making Philly's offense look competent. Beat Indy simply because AD Mitchell drops the ball as he's crossing the goal line and I'm not sure Indy is good because their wins are against a disinterested Miami squad, the Titans and a 1 point victory over a struggling Broncos team. Then loses to a 49ers squad missing half their starters.

I'm gonna need some better evidence that the Rams are actually good before I accept that premise.

I think good is a relative term. The Rams started 1-4 last season and won the division. The Rams started 3-6 in 2023 and swept the Seahawks and beat the Seahawks out for a wild card spot because of it.

I'm so happy with how Schneider addressed his conundrum:

Conundrum: my head coach is being flummoxed by Mcvay and Shanahan, so badly its clear he's gotta go

Solution A: Another McVay/Shanahan, so Mike McDaniel/Ben Johnson type

Solution B: The antidote, so Dan Campbell/mike MacDonald type

He chooses B and brings in Frazier and MacDonald

I LOVE YOU JODY ALLEN AND JOHN SCHNEIDER!!

-Johnny Unitas, 1967

-Tom Brady, 2011/2015/2016/2019

-Donovan McNabb, 2004

-Peyton Manning, 2013

-Aaron Rodgers, 2011

This is hilarious for two reasons:

1) This is the guy who the 49ers probably should have drafted with pick 3 back in 2021.

2) One of these things is not like the other - https://youtu.be/rsRjQDrDnY8

What would the narrative on Mac Jones be today if he had been a Kyle Shanahan system QB from day one? Would anyone know who Brock Purdy is?

Week 8 - Bye: I saw "One Battle After Another" last week and loved it. Paul Thomas Anderson always does great work, but he really nailed the timing of the release of this film. Sean Penn is awesome.

Best PTA film since There Will Be Blood, I think. Such a great time at the movies.

Looks like I'm off my "no more crow" diet today.

The Rams defense played 89 snaps last night. Eighty-nine. Ice bath anyone?

Good breakdown of our remaining games.

13 games left and 12 different coaches.

We have lost to Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan before and we could lose to them again. They both have a good track record, trips to the super bowl with one win.

Dan Quinn also has won playoff games and made trip to the super bowl. He did great in Washington last year but is not doing as well this year.

KOC has had a few good years but no playoff wins. He has won the NFC North twice which is a tough division. The years he won the division he team started off well. Mixed result this year.

Todd Bowles with Tampa has won the division the last 3 years. Then again, it's the NFC South. He has won a few wild card games but has not made it pas the divisional round.

I don't think the rest have won a playoff game.

With LA losing to SF tonight hard to say how well we will do with either of those teams until there is a little more history. It is amazing how well Shanahan has his team playing with the backup quarterback.

I like out chances against the more unproven coaches. Easily I think the strength of our team is our coaches and we really improved the team over last year with the all the new offensive coaches.

So far our close games have been the division ones. The next four games are non-division and we will see how they fare compared to the previous non-division foes. That would be a great trend if we can do well in the non-division games.

"Travis Hunter has proven to be a dual threat: He’s a non-factor on both sides of the ball."

Absolutely. roasted.

Great to see the Rams lose! But SF has won its first three division games which really puts pressure on Seattle. Surprised SF could be 4-1 with the injuries theyve had, pretty impressive, plus their cupcake schedule makes them dangerous

Seaside Joe's avatar

Despite being very wrong about what I expected to happen, I'll stand by rather seeing the 49ers at 4-1 than the Rams at 4-1.

zezinhom400's avatar

And I saw that comment "pull for the Niners" which was my instinct too, likr our chances of beating them by more than a field goal in the rematch. And sweeping the Rams makes you gulp but hey if youre gonna win this division at some point you need to sweep the Rams. Might as well be this year

zezinhom400's avatar

Media seers are starting to realize the best division in football is the NFC West. And I'm with you, biggest stone in our shoe is the Rams

" But if you need a rooting interest on Thursday Night Football, pick the 49ers."

Yay ! ... could have ended in a tie ~ but a loss by Da Rams is better.

Don't suppose we could get a tie here, win on Sunday be in first. I know we just had a tie on Sunday but?

Mac Jones is a tough son of a fahrvergnügen...

Until I see a QB perform like this, I don't give them much attention.

Everyone in our division gives me heartburn. Everyone else we can dissect one week at a time and hopefully find some successes....I'm confident of we stay healthy at key positions we'll be OK.

Mostly Lurking's avatar

I'm just barely accepting that the Mariners might be good enough this year. Don't go making me optimistic about the rest of the Hawks season too

Seaside Joe's avatar

At least no matter what happens, there’s 60 home runs. Crazy.

Rusty's avatar

16 and 1…..just kidding, but really only a little bit. I don’t see any games where I think it’s an automatic loss.

You can’t predict injuries, and some well placed ones could throw some sand in the gears, but I think it’s looking pretty good for the Hawks!

JIMMY JOHNSON's avatar

There was a time where stating a "toe injury" kept you at home in a road game was unthinkable. We would hear "foot injury" or "lower leg". Yeah, today we have unforgiving surfaces. High performances demand more severe stop/starts as speeds have increased. I get it. Sounds like an equipment issue that Goodell should be taking up with Nike. It'll be interesting to see how Frisco/Clara deals with their Knee vs Toe QB issue now. My hats off to Jones spending an entire half further aggravating an already braced knee. I doubt 10 days will be enough to undo last night's damage. I also hold no doubt Jones will do it all over again if tasked. Play-calling will be adjusted? The Bucs will be hungry after we beat them Sunday...

Seaside Joe's avatar

Yea I like the odds
