Nothing against Pete. We just seem to be out coordinatored by both the 49ers and the Rams. Those NFC rivals have now filled 8 head coaching postions throughout the league from 2019 until present.
Coordinator coaching has really been SF's footup around the league and in the West. They lose all their running backs and don't have elite receivers but put up points (even with backup QB's). Their D coordinators keep getting hired as head coaches. The next guy shows up and they are still top 5. SF has invested in their D-Line (How many first round D Line guys did the Rams have under Fisher), and as well on the offensive side. They drafted their core LB crew as well as their young safeties the last two years. They seem to find good RB's I've never heard of. So much of all of this is more than just talent, but scheme/coaching. Seattle has been outcoached defensively and offensively since Shanahan and his staff showed up. Talent is only as good as the use and development of it.
Pete, who is notoriously creative (switching Red Bryant from a long/tall NT to a Huge 5-tech, putting 2 Edge-rushers on the same side - Avril/Bennett - to flush Kaepernick to his left, etc) may have something planned...
Jamal Adams as a pseudo LB, roving out of the Safety position...he is quite good at it but the team suffered when he was hurt and plans could not be followed through on. Devin Bush is a Really fast and athletic LB who really plays well when kept clean but is kind of undersized for blowing up plays that he has to force...
What if Devin Bush is the 'hedge' - not for Jordyn Brooks' recovery - for Jamal Adams. He is actually better sized as a 'death-backer' than Jamal. Hmmm...pretty darned intriguing thought.
Might need a Ouija Board to know for sure - at least until Brooks' ACL is ready to go.
I have already made the comment that NIners/Seahawks is going to be a street fight this year. But I do believe the Seahawks will hold the upper hand by the end of the season.
Are the NIners a better team going into 2023 than they were in 2022? I think that argument is hard to make and they are vulnerable on OL and at QB.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks have upgraded on both sides of the ball, significantly. Youth will be served and all those draft picks missed in Rounds 1, 2 and 3 are going to hurt the Niners starting this year.
I think his draft status was also helped by the fact that this class is kind of a shit show and some teams just weren’t confident in prospects by the third round.

Waldon, Hurt....are you listening?
The 49ers have won 5 of 13 games since Shanahan took over, and before last season had not swept Seattle - that is a 2-10 record before last year.
But agree on your first points, they have amazing coordinators. And love how they seem to have the best O & D lines.
Nothing Up My Sleeve...

If, by that you mean the Niners knock off the Eagles for us, I'm fine with that. San Fran for the NFC Championship sounds good, too.

My guess is that the Niners took a kicker with their first pick because they want to stop paying Robbie Gould so much, to help their cap.

Or that a dominant defence and a crumbled QB situation means they expect to be kicking for three points a lot more than kicking for one.
