- Just imagine what the world would be like if the Seahawks found a way to have 5 really good offensive linemen. Cross, Lucas, Olu, Bradford, Haynes...Curtis, Fant, Greenfield, Jerrell, Pircher, Harris, Tomlinson, Laumea...is there anybody out there?
- I haven't posted anything on Geno's injury or absence from camp because I'm waiting until there's some actual real like NEWS to report. The "news" is that Geno isn't there, the reports are some tests were done and that the tests showed nothing worth talking about, that he's just not comfortable enough to practice this week. Is this related to his contract? Well, I don't know at all, nobody does, but I appreciate the speculation because I mean, it would not be shocking if there was a QB somewhere who wanted to do a quiet hold-in with no fans ever finding out. I just don't think that's what's happening here, but again, nobody has good intel outside of the team.
I think we have everything we need to make an effective O-Line. The key change from last year (besides injuries) is the change at OC. I keep going on about Waldron but goddamn he was seriously holding us back! Last year, even with the injuries and turmoil, our O-Line was right around league average in terms of clean pocket time, and in blitz-to-pressure ratios. Our primary issues seemed to stem from, say it with me, play calls that took too long to develop and did not utilise our talents actual strengths.
If Grubb can speed up the offence, have JSN run forwards, and roll Fant (or KW3) into short space as a safety valve then I believe we could have Bradford, Olu2, Haynes and even a Jerrell in the line with Cross and have a Top10 Offence.
And about time for me to mention Jake Peetz again (my #2 man crush behind Glenn Powell - ok sidebar for a moment, did anyone else see Twisters?! See Glenn Powell wearing the heck out of a cowboy hat in jeans and white t-shirt in the rain for no reason other than that he's a freaking goddamn movie star! Damn it the mans a movie star through and through and we need more Glenn Powell headed movies). His work on our passing game will be significant, and with the range of talent we have at WR, TE and RB he should be able to work with Grubb to overcome any potential weakness to the O-Line.
Good stuff… I think Cross is at the top of my hopeful board (even ahead of JSN) for 2024 breakout season. It’s very common in football for players to undersell their injuries, because, well, they are football guys and have insane amounts of pain tolerance and toughness and never want to be seen complaining or making excuses.
It would not surprise to see a big step forward in his third year, hopefully!
I guess I should have called him the FFRealist as per his byline. Idon't know that the 1st "F" is for fantasy. It could be for anything, considering that comment he made.
I see Coach+ Geno giving a 'legit' reason for Howell to be in the arena right now. As it stands, Geno's abilities are a Given. If Lucas sits out until Miami (game 3), how much more must we beat up on 2 teams in worse newness situations than we are? If it's a matter of losing a game, bring him in, as we may see a whole lot of Dog in their Fight. Get your Unknowns known.
I'm just learning how valuable K'von Wallace is. I don't know for sure if he will even make the cut to 53, but right now it looks like he could be the #3 safety and might move up. Why he was waived by three teams makes me wonder what is wrong with them or what is wrong with Wallace, but in interviews he comes across like he's hungry and confident and intelligent, as seems necessary to understand all of your assignments as well as everyone else's assignment.
There may be growing pains, but I have great hope for a much improved defense.
Damn!!! The more I read this article, the more I like our chances….. BUT, remember we still have Geno at QB… I would really assess our backup… Howell has and was known as a talent coming out of college… Let him truly compete 50/50 in preseason…
Get it- OK way back I was told the exact same thing from a couple of Seahawks starters. Few make a huge 2nd year jump, but IF they are going to be good to very good starters it comes in year three. It is just a mindset and understanding of what it actually takes to be a NFL starter, jell with the team and decide who and what you want yourself and team to be. So we will see this year who is and isn't what we thought they are.

Geno's just running scared of Howitzer Howell!

Hell yeah!
I still think the Seahawks will struggle on the field in the early going (coaches too) because of all the change BUT the future is bright!

What a headline to this article! 😂 😂 😂

LOVE the imbedded pic of "The Fantasy Football REALIST". Sh*t sure got real pretty quickly for him on that one!

Help, is it just me or did OC Grubb's offense last year with the Dogs remind anyone else of the late, great Mike Leach's Air Raid passing scheme?
If so, the Hawks seem to have the right personell to run it in the NFL.

Oh wow. As a former Idaho Vandal (8 miles from WSU), I about died laughing when I read:
“because certainly at some point, at some time, in some universe, something will go right for the Cougs.”
While I have several good friends who were Cougars, and i don’t hold it against them, I never miss an opportunity to laugh at their school.
