It would not be hyperbole to say that this is my favorite draft (well, after draft concluded) in team history. I wasn't bullish on Cross, but literally everyone I liked better went sooner. I was beyond pleased that Mafe, Lucas, and Bryant were even on the board when we were on the clock and then lo and behold, they were selected. Walker was far and away my favorite running back, and I punched air when his name was called, then watched everyone lose their minds on Twitter over it. But those people are wrong. Good running backs are so much better than average ones, and he wasn't going to be around much longer. And the pundits who say the position wasn't a need for us clearly don't know the roster. That Bo Melton dropped to the last round is head-scratching. Was there a medical flag or arrest I don't know about or something? Would have sworn I saw 2nd-3rd round hype on that guy. And more than anything, we didn't reach for a QB. Darn near a perfect draft in my view.

Every team has its own culture, so to speak. Pete and John have such a great working friendship that I trust them to pass on the greatest player if that player would be a downer in the locker room. From all that's been said about the draft picks this time, they got the complete package of talent and personalities in their picks.

I liked all the picks. I’m glad they’re going to see what they have at quarterback before they start getting too crazy. Not real excited about starting 2 rookie tackles but if they are the best on the team, I’m in!

They paid attention to team weaknesses and—for once—didn’t draft like they were smarter than everyone else. Some have wondered why a so-called running team chose two tackles whose forte is pass-blocking. That’s no mystery: They can’t complete in the NFC West without effective pass protection. The ‘Hawks dropped four out five games to the Rams in 2020-2021 in large part because they couldn’t handle LA’s pass rush. They’ve had better luck against the Niners, but much of it was plain luck.

Yeah, I would expect a slight tick in offensive philosophy towards something more pass-heavy in 2023 and beyond. Example: Nick Saban and Alabama over the last 5 years. Much different team!

"You deserve a rest today!" sung to the tune of a long forgotten jingle. Kenneth, build up the wax of the candle you've been burning. In fact, sometimes after a long day, my feeling was, "Ahh, i've gotta get through all of these new Seaside Joes." They're great reading but you've been putting them out at a prodigious pace. A rest is fine for all of us.

On Robert Turbin : a ref said that a pass didn't hit the ground but hit Mr. Turbin's bicep. This ball sailed something like 15 yards away and led to an interception. There were all kinds of comments for quite a while about Robert having metal biceps. Robert Turbin also had an inordinate number of some of his greatest runs called back do to a penalty by the offense. Hope he's doing well.

I have nothing but nice things to say about Robert Turbin. Thank you, Charley!

We got four players who will contribute immediately, restocked the cornerback competition, and absolutely stole Bo Melton in the 7th round. Unless Drew Lock surprises, next year will be a first round QB.

Best draft since 2012. Love the Teriq Woolen pick. Richard Sherman 2.0. Not sold on Lock, hoping for Mayfield or Minshew trade for a 2023 mid round pick. The Legion of Boom being rebuilt.Hawks set up great for 2023 draft with 2 1st and 2 2nds. Love Russell but this couldn't have happened without the trade.. Hope Denver has a superior O line because Russ holds onto the ball too long. With this draft we won't be almost last in time of possession like last year.

It looks good from here. Once again P/J got railroaded by many pundits over the choice of Kenneth Walker lll rather than Malik Willis. Of course none of them know of Chris Carson's possible career ending injury. It's the lazy view that you can't take a back that so high. Instead we should use are second round pick on a QB who may never see the field. Instead I look at it that he was the Doke Walker winner which is given to the best runningback in the nation. He had close to 1700 yards rushing and 18 touchdowns. He also has a great side step but if need be he can use his fireplug frame to run people over. I think I am exact on this, he ran a 4.36 40 yard dash, making him a homerun threat every time he touches the ball. Us Seaside Joe Readers had a pretty good idea we were not taking a QB. I did like the thought of Matt Corral going at 41 to us , but when we took Walker3 I was very happy. What would be exceptional is Chris Carson returning to form to go with Penny and W3. Neither one of our place holder backs has played more than 12 games in a season so Walker will be game fully employed no matter what.

The rest of the draft looked pretty darn good. Our first five round selections are most likely going to make the team. Three to four of them have the chance to be pro bowlers somewhere down the line. This is the first draft in a long time that I wasn't left wondering about a couple of fairly high picks. No one knows yet how the players will turn out for sure. Personally as you can tell I am very High on this class and thats not BC bud speaking. Victoria Chris

The Malik Willis thing is beyond tired, it's merely people pouting that they didn't get their way, despite every sign in existence pointing towards the fact that the Seahawks were never going to draft a QB in this draft.

Right! There's no guarentee that Carson will be back . Neck injuries are career threatening. Just ask Cam Bam Chancellor. Can't believe Walker lasted till the 2nd round. No offense but neither Dallas or Homer are 3 down backs. Penney , Walker and Carson ( if he plays ) may be the best running back trio in the league.

I was hoping that all that BS hype about Willis wouldnt influence Pete and John. He looks like a bust or a very long project.

With a good ground game we won't be losing the time of possession by 2 to n 1 ratios like last year. After this draft the best move they made was jettising Ken Norton!

It's been a minute since feeling stunned and having so many????????'s about how I feel and the direction the Hawks are taking when Russ was traded. But I must say, there was, in my mind, alot of disappointment in the defenses strategies and the seemingly redundant offensive play calling the last several years. So having said that, with the way the Hawks have made off season moves and now with what I consider a whale of a draft, I now have been experiencing some real excitement to see how it all works out. So, Well Done JS/PC😊

You're right. Can't win too many games when the defense can't get off the field

Really like all of the new draftee's. Now pouring through the UDFA's. You gotta do a piece on this kid, Levi Lewis. He looks like a Russ Wilson clone with fewer nano bubbles. Don't know how he works out, but if nothing else, he'll be fun to watch because he's a southpaw. Lot to like about all the new blood. If we can find a legitimate QB, we might actually be more than just competitive. Go Hawks!

I watched Levi Lewis last year. He's undrafted free agent QB. If he ever makes the roster, I'll happily dig more into it. I think it's really important to pound home this offseason that most people are overrating the QB position, and especially when it comes to Pete Carroll. This is NOT about just one QB. Maybe it will be next year if the Seahawks are in position to draft a great one, but it's simply time to focus on Drew Lock.

Lock will be fine. Possession running, receiver weapons, stout defense with special teams rocking.

Fun times
