The Biggest place they need a stud is at center. Follow every very good team and they have a stud there! Brown has been OK, but he seems to have an issue feeling where he needs to fill and help( not always but watch some games, it's obvious!) Leadership and Smarts and just being a stud is a prerequisite at that position for a great team to have! We don't have it! Go get the best FA center and we then move forward with probably a really good Offense! Now D is another story ! Got to start over with the coaching staff there, Clean House and get Someone who believes in your philosophy ,PETE , Ok !
Those seem like some hopeful blue chippers! I like it! DK has been awesome lately. He hasn’t had any penalty issues (SF wasn’t one imo) since Pete talked to him. He has been what we need him to be.
If anyone is watching this high powered lions offense with the sexy O coordinator tonight ... I think it tells you all you need to know about the Seahawks offense and Geno Smith.
Very small sample size, but Geno has been the best QB in the nfl since the cowboys game by EPA/play.
Why that game? Because that is after Pete talked to Shane (and Geno?) about the offense. Since Pete’s talk Geno has got the ball out almost a half second faster.
The result: offense has been elite.
Let’s keep it rolling on O ... we just need this defense to do its part.
I thought at the time and still think tue Williams trade was a great move; not a win now move but a long-term move which means they need to (and I think they will) keep him.
Question for Kentavius and the rest of us: how important do you think safeties are to the Seahawks (or Pete's) overall defensive philosophy? We're Kam and Earl just that good where they made the rest of the defense work by taking away the middle of the field or is that a core tenet of a Pete Carroll defense? Force everything outside the numbers?
Being honest, I think we could lose either or both of our next two games. Pitt is at about our level, so anything can happen. And Arizona is in our division and we are pretty much cursed versus our own division this year. But we could easily win both games. I'd love to see it. Get to play Detroit or the Iggles.
Maybe I missed it, but for my money, Lockett is one of the top three #2 WR's, and I completely agree and hope no one remembers the times I have suggested we trade DK. He is elite. We don't use him enough or throw to him with the best routes for him, but he has improved every aspect of his game.
Witherspoon is elite already. I would pay to see him play.
Totally with you on DK. Halfway through the season I was ready to see him gone. But now he’s made me see the error of my ways. He’s been playing like a beast and great teammate.
The players you mentioned + Witherspoon and Charbonnet need to avoid serious injury this season so that 2024 is as promising as it should be. Nwosu needs to be 100% by then. Resign Lewis and yes of course Williams. Trade for a very good LB.. Re QB, I have no intelligent noise to make.
It all sounds great on paper (screen), but I just wish they’d show it on the weekends. A few good moments here and there have been encouraging, but I haven’t seen it all gel just yet. Hopefully it happens for the remainder of the season and into the playoffs. I’d like to see us blow out a team this season (though time is running out). My main concern is that we don’t seem to be able to put up high scores. With all those weapons, who or what is the issue?
“But the Seahawks suck on the road in the playoffs, the bracket matters!”
Statements like that cause me to founder upon the shoals & dog paddle back to the beach, sharks be damned.
I would have to be shown the correlation between any year's performance and that of ANY PRIOR YEAR before I'd even consider getting back in that particular boat. That analysis would have to consider how the Fleahawks' statistics in that matter compare to those of every other franchise, demonstrating that said franchise was statistically divergent from the rest of the league.
And, as you'd probably guess, even then I'd be all like "nahhhh...somebody cooked some books somewhere...last years team really isn't this year's team...heck...the Fleahawks team of Week 17 isn't really even the same team as it was in Week 1."
Then, I'd stand back & watch the frothing at the mouth, 'cause...y'know...when you're an Idiot, entertainment is where you make it, not where you find it.
Continuing my personal chippiness...I think the placement of the chip is inherent to the player, the shoulder being the best place for it. The hue of that chip is mostly inherent...and, to some extent, trainable..but the intensity of the color, and most especially the specular reflectance that makes it rightwise shiny, results from the utilization of said player. A rich, deep, well-cured, sparkly blue can be observed only when the rest of the unit performs well & the coaching staff knows how to use the player, thereby polishing the chip to reveal its luster.
I love the optimism and I don't disagree with it. The Hawks have righted the ship and they might even make some noise in the playoffs if they can get there.

“Bloom, you say?”
Maybe even a whole legion of it. That had to make you laugh in awe when that popped into your head. Great article

I think they have what they need but the Kam type guy!

Rose colored glasses guy here. The Seahawks will make some (good) noise in the playoffs.

He wasn't healthy , but tried to struggle through- He is showing now what he can do being healthy-
The reason Metcalf numbers are not larger is because our beloved OC is future HOF coach Waldron.

It’s a great base to build on regardless.
Some good choices. Lewis has really helped since he is back and in game shape. HM to Evens as all around help at RT RG.
Devon Witherspoon????
He’s been “blue chippery” since he first stepped on the field, IMO.
I would not want to be game planning a defense against these 3 receivers right now…
