This is an exercise in futility. We are toast!

iOL Dalton Risner, Lloyd Cushenberry, Quinn Meinerz vs DL Al Woods, Poona Ford, Shelby Harris

There's my key right there. That's Russ' biggest problem, has been from the beginning, will be Monday night, I hope. We see what happens when he gets an A Donald in his face (Murray's the same way) or there's an interior push. Russ gets happy feet and starts to run around. That's when Taylor, Nwosu or Mafe can hunt him down because all those guys are athletic enough to get Russ in the backfield at this point of his career.

If the interior, maybe our most underrated position group, can get inside push, and then, as Cover12 posted, Jamal gets in there creating more madness, Seattle can frustrate the Broncos offense.

And if the offense can dink and dunk just keeping the Broncos offense on the sideline, well, we might just have some cheering going on from the 12s.

"Geno Smith throwing deep on Monday night would be something."

But why? I admit to being in the ”Geno is boring, but will protect the ball" camp until very recently. But I'm trying to reevaluate my priors and I'm not sure I trust 4 games as a conservative backup over 2 years as a starter (and 4 years of college) with a reputation as a gunslinger who loved to push the ball downfield.

I think the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. I do think he has learned to protect the ball better. But I don't think the Geno that put up 8TDs and 656 yards against Baylor, or the Geno that led the NFL with 5 game winning drives in 2013, or the Geno that has an awful TD/Int ratio of less than one are all gone.

I firmly believe that we'll see a more aggressive Geno than we did last year now that he's QB1 and not the backup just filling in.

Kenneth Walker III may be doubtful for this Monday Night Football game but Kenneth Seaside Joe is a certainty to write something interesting about it! Thank you for drawing my attention to the trenches when the Broncos have the ball. Al Woods and company may tool their counterparts.

An inside blitzing Safety/Backer shooting the gaps may have a game too.

Mostly, I hope to see a loaded Left side of our D-line. Overwhelming Russ' right side view against that back-up Tackle will be a Game changer if they do so...remember how Colin Keapernick would get so flustered when Avril/Bennet both came from the QB's right side? Yes, I thought you might...bring it on!

Can't wait to see the breakdown of Geno's passes by yardage. He hardly threw deep but somehow both TDs came on passes beyond 10 yards.

I like this pre-game position matchup analysis, primarily as a way to point out our opponents strengths and weaknesses. I expect after a few weeks that recapping the Hawks personnel will get a bit old, but I think it would be fun to continue to hear your thoughts on our opponents. New weekly segment?

With how our NFC West rivals are faring, for one day the Seahawks are in 1st place.

0 - 0 record wins over 0 - 1.

Watching the Bears and SF right now. Lance doing alright in a perfect situation for a young QB. He's protected and coming along slowly. But Fields looks bad. Which got me thinking of you, Kenneth, as you've been clear that you never thought he had what it takes to succeed in the NFL. I'm curious to see how Zach Wilson does today. Will he begin to emerge?

I have to say that depth chart has me completely confused, as it lists Woolen and Jackson as 1st at RCB and LCB respectively, so shouldn’t both be starting tonight? But it also has Bryant and Jones IV at 2nd LCB, does this make one of them starting Slot CB, given that Coleman is listed at 3rd? Colour me confused.
