Real simple… NO!! Broncos supporting cast is better, and the fact almost 48% of Seahawks fans think SEA is going to win week 1 tells me there are a lot of delusional Seahawks fans…. There is no chance SEAs QBs regardless who starts match Wilson Scoring drive for scoring drive. Seattle is going to seriously struggle week 1 against a playoff caliber Denver team.

Also for consideration - the high likelihood that Denver’s situation will corrode after 2023, and Seattle’s will strengthen again, due to owning their 1st and 2nd round picks. An irony of a franchise QB wanting to be traded - his arrival almost inevitably makes the team he went to worse over the coming years. Let’s hope it’s this year - that their line’s play is at the floor, Russ pirouettes his way into a ton of sacks and the Donkeys cough up a top ten pick for us.

Broncos going to miss those draft picks, but they must have known that they weren't going to be able to draft a good QB this year and they needed to make a move before their sale.

Good point - I wonder how much Russ was actually worth on the final sale price. And I don’t mean from a ‘win it all now’ standpoint as that scenario is at best unlikely, but rather the merchandising potential - presumably any owners’ number one priority

You failed to consider one of the most important factors in trying to determine the level of success Wilson will have in your scenario ... Coaching. How many games in the past were decided by the adjustments the Hawks made at halftime? How soon we forget the importance of adjusting to the opposition. This isn't done by the individual comparison of players by position between the two teams, it's done by coaching and the coaches knowledge and experience. Making the correct adjustments during the game. It's where the rubber hits the road and will be the obvious reason all you "Debbie downers" will look like "mental midgets" when Pete and the Hawks roll into the playoffs at the end of the regular season this year. GO HAWKS!

I did not fail, I am aware of coaching haha. As I said, I am only focused on the supporting offensive personnel for this exercise. You're talking about a different article.

Know you're only dealing with supporting casts, but this contest looks evenly matched. (I can't believe I just said that, but that's w/o Wilson in the equation). Looks like you're going to have to compare Defenses also. Denver might have the slight edge on O, but I have high Hope's for our D with a new brain trust.

Probably not going to compare defenses. But will definitely talk about the Broncos more in September.

Based on what Seaside has here, I’m afraid I’ll go with Denver. Edges at LT, RB, and WR depth, which is e aptly what Russell likes. Still, post-2022 he could be envious.

That could be fair, though this morning Tim Patrick went down with apparent leg injury.

Wilson makes them a better team than Seattle, but I don't know if he makes Denver a better team in the AFCW. Meaning, Seattle might have a better chance in the NFCW, even though they don't have Wilson, than Denver does in that division and conference with him.

I think Seattle has a huge advantage in game 1. The Broncos won't know Seattle's scheme well, won't have much tape on it, but Seattle will know Hackett and Wilson pretty well. Because of a rookie coach, and being on the road, I think there's a chance for Seattle to sneak it out. BUT, it's a long ways till Sept so we'll see in the week prior how I think.

Wait, 8.1, it's not thaaaaat far away!!!

The Hawks have a better chance in the NFCW than SEA does in the AFCW?? That is a delusional statement. Denver has an actual top 10 caliber QB, teams have backups better than SEAs starting QB. SEA stands no chance in the NFCW, best SEA can hope for is 3rd in the division but even that’s doubtful as even Lance falls on his face SFs defense will help them win more games than SEA. Both LA and AZ are much better teams than SEA is and have two of the best offenses in the NFL.

It's a fair correction because I didn't state I was making a comparative statement rather than a prediction. I think Seattle's chance at competing in the division is better than Denver's in theirs.

Carroll teams play SF tough, and it's not just Russ (actually, I think we'd miss Bobby more because he played well against the 9ers, especially against their run). And Lance has proven NOTHING yet so if you're basing your thoughts on him being good so much better than Lock, that's not proven yet. High draft picks don't a QB make.

I'm also not sold on Az to the level you are. I've read your reasons, agree with the numbers you've skillfully presented, but their style of play for a divisional team that plays them twice does not scare me. I see the clear separation every time Sea plays LAR so that's just what it is.

And...my thoughts aren't delusional. That's wrong. These are pro teams separated often by a matter of a few plays in a game, or even the bounce of a ball. I've stated my case here more than once how I THINK Seattle can compete if they're D line is improved and pressures the opposing offense, and Seattle has a nice mix of two successful RBs and a controlled passing attack. You well know if Seattle's defense steps up and Lock consistently plays like his better days in the NFL, this team can compete any given Sunday. That's not delusional, or even hopeful, but possible. Probable? Probably not, but much closer to probable than delusional.

Going to be so hard for the Broncos to win the AFC West.

Seaside, who do you like in the AFCW?

I know the Chargers are trendy, and I think they'll get in the playoffs this year, but I think KC has done some good things to stay the gold standard there.

And the Raiders improved on making the playoffs; they might be tougher than they're getting credit for as analyst seem to leap the Broncos past them because of Wilson. But Carr has continued to improve while Wilson has kind of stayed the same (quick stats glance). These two teams will play some intense games. I'm not sure who's a better team between these two right now.

I like the Chiefs to win the AFCW, though.

Good eval for 2022. I like Seattle’s position better than Denver’s going forward after 2022.
