SSJ I’m so in tune with what you’re espousing. So logical and so sensible, it’s hard to believe Schneider will do anything different.

Uchenna, Dre’Mont, No-E, both Fants, Pharaoh Brown, Jenkins and Rob-Harris, plus extending Geno and maybe DK, more than solves the riddle plus gives them lots of space for replacements of the above, or re-signing them at more realistic rates. I’m really excited at these prospects and REALLY hope Schneider is reading that statement of yours regarding two top FA’s on the OL — two guards, or a guard and center, or a guard and tackle that lets Lucas move inside. Knocking on wood…

Don’t forget about signing Earnest Jones at LB. I don’t think we have a starting caliber LB besides Knight is Jones goes elsewhere. It seems to me the 2 LBs play a very vital role in MM’s defense. The 2 freak agents we signed last year were lacking in the abilities to play the role Mm wants them to play. Look at the step up the Ravens had when they had Roquan and Green in those spots.

Totally. People diss him a bit bc he's bounced around but he seems to be a natural (along with Tyrice) in MacDonald's system and it's pretty night-and-day when you look at the defense post-Jones' arrival. Also Coby Bryant seemed to suddenly shine too at that point, maybe those two LB's were doing their jobs better and letting him roam a bit more. Somebody smarter than me could maybe see if that's cause or coincidence, but man did we play better with Jones (and Tyrice and Coby) than without...

Agreed! Coby Bryant should be an easy extension if he stays healthy this year.

Two OL in FA and a DE at pick 18 sounds like a great start to me! Per SSJ's ILB analysis last year, they can be had on day 2 and later. I am hoping to see all this on top of an EJ resigning at ILB. Mid and late round picks at DE, TE, WR, & QB to try and find some depth or diamonds in the proverbial rough would be lovely, as well.

Possibly S though at 18. I think it DLine and likely DE especially with expected upcoming cuts.

Emmanwori seems like a Mike MacDonald guy, so S could be an option. Although fans might swallow their tongues if the Seahawks don't draft in the trenches.

I know why I posted that we could see Hawks go different direction. Seems like the kind of player to put there with Spoon and Coby.

iLB looks thin in the draft at first blush. There's a few that look like pretty high end prospects, then things get mirky. Campbell could be there are 18, and he'd be hard to pass by. He might also be long gone. Hard to know. Assuming we sign EJ (not a given) we still only have 2 starting caliber guys, so we'll need to get some depth there. I was scared last year that one of EJ or Knight would get injured, as there wasn't much behind them.

Woo hoo. Just heard that the NFL are coming to my home town in Melbourne, Australia next year. Unfortunately the Rams are the designated team though. Oh well, at least I’ll finally get to a game!

Best of luck getting tickets! And hey, you can just boo the Rams extra hard!

I think we are all hoping for our first round pick to be a G/T or (maybe a little less but still) Edge. And looking at various draft Analysis, these are positions that should be plenty available in the mid/late first round, which is great. But reading through the draft Analysis, there was one Player who just had MM-Defence written all over him. Jihaad Campbell is an ultra Athletic linebacker, who can seemingly also play Edge (which probably gives him Edge-value in the draft for MM and could maybe lead to him being the Pick instead of a true Edge rusher). And thus I was wondering, what other Positions JS could target with our first round pick. MM would definitively love a special playmaker at safety or Linebacker. I think safety in the first round would be to much of luxury for our current roster, but I think Campell is the kind of special athletic playmaker MM would love at the LB position. So especially with Ernest Jones' current situation (I still think he will be resigned), I think Jihaad Campell is the only player who could lead JS and MM to not target G/T or Edge in the first round. I know its a little bit early to talk about specific players for the draft, but since SSJ started with the small school Center, I felt free to share my thoughts. So, what are your thoughts?

Based on mocks I would not be surprised by one of these Safeties or CB. Depends on how draft falls but wouldn’t be surprised. Don’t see off-ball LB at 18.

If Nwosu is released and not signed, That will make Edge a high priority in free agency or the draft. Edges are not cheap if you want a good free agent. That means I think pick 18 would likely mean edge rusher. We need the cap space, but I do hope Nwosu is back after testing the waters of free agency. E. Jones at LB is another potential free agent loss that would mean ILB is now a high priority. Yikes! our draft capital is not as high as one might hope to fill all these holes with starting caliber players.

Moving Lucas inside is a must. It’s easy on his knee and emphasizes his strengths.

I do t see Russ in the picture. He had serious issues with Rogers and Russ wanted Pete and John gone.

I hear you on one hand. Issue is Lucas is tall not low center of gravity. I just don’t know if Lucas can play OG. Not an OLine expert but I think it would be harder for him.

Ray Roberts is unenthusiastic about moving Lucas to guard. Michael Bumpus wonders whether Lucas can pull adequately.

I agree he may well be limited in pulling. Sometimes that can be worked around adequately. We will see he is a real talent.

Agree. Roberts has the greater point: This stuff isn’t easy and no one should assume that moving from pro football tackle to pro football guard is plug-and-play.
