You know what? I am not good at making predictions, particularly regarding the NFL. I am, however, enjoying the heck out of this weird season, as well as this daily column. Who’d a thunk it?

Thanks for part in all this, Ken!

I hope Geno wins all sorts of awards at the end of the season. Go 'Hawks!!

Super Bowl MVP would be a nice one.

A win on the road to sweep the Cardinals means a 4-game win streak and will be the official “We’re baaack” (in a Poltergeist kind of way) to the rest of the NFCW and the NFL.

Look out baby, the Seahawks are back! And if they are on your schedule you should be scared.

I'm not superstitious but I also don't want to jinx a good football thing so I'll stay mum on the game itself. However...

Geno winning offensive player of the MONTH is a big deal. Russ won it once early in 2020, and the NFL doesn't automatically give that award to QBs as you might think. In fact, the majority of QBs who win it either end up being in strong contention for MVP or win the MVP. Who would have thought this were possible for Geno for 2020? I was bullish on him in the preseason but mainly in the respect that I had zero interest in seeing Drew Lock in the regular season, I didn't expect Geno to be this great.

Aaron Donald has floated retiring two years in a row, and instead the Rams chose to extend him. He's still a good player but he clearly peaked in 2018 and it's been a slow decline since, so kudos to him taking the bag yet again and sticking the Rams with a massive cap hits for years to come.

Unfortunately, it feels as if all of Donald's season statistics occur during the two games against Seattle.

Yeah, well, he doesn't have Russell Wilson to kick around anymore. Will be interesting to watch when the Rams play Denver. Maybe Wilson will break his ribs again (with his butt).

So hard to repeat. Seattle did unusually well in getting to the big game in consecutive years.

I hope we come out of this one healthy and with a W. That field has ended many a Seahawk's season and career. I'm cautiously optimistic that we get a little closer to the playoffs after Sunday's game. Go Hawks!!!

If we can do both, I'll be thrilled.

The most interesting part of that article was musing about declining skills from Aaron Donald. Looking at his stats since 2019 both sacks (12.5, 13.5, 12.5) and QB hits (24, 28, 25) have been steady but this year has definitely been down. Is that declining skills or lack of a supporting cast? Hard to say at this point but Donald losing his mojo would be amazing, particularly because he's got a dead cap hit of $44 million in 2023 and $19.5 million in 2024.

Yeah, they just reupped him for ALL the money after that Super Bowl win. Can't say I blame them, but from a Seahawks fan perspective I'm not hating his decline.

Was so certain this was going to be a year to be patient and celebrate small things. Now we're hoping to win the division, land a bunch of awards for our guys and make a deep playoff run. I'm amazed. Carroll's not going anywhere until he wants to.

While I’m loathe to contradict Seaside, the Hawks started 7-1 in 2013 (34-28 loss in Indianapolis in Week 5) and 6-2 in 2019 (two home losses: 33-27 to the Saints and 30-16 to the Ravens). The 2019 team went 4-4 at then Century Link and 7-1 on the road.

When you see more pundits than not picking Seattle in this one I tend to get a little skidish. But then again this team doesn't seem to be following the patterns of the Wilson era. It appears this team is unified, focused and just love playing the game. The biggest plus for Seattle this week is that Arizona can't seem to get out of their own way. Bone head mistakes at the most inopportune time. I think this will be a great test for the Hawks defense and the offense could have a very good day. Seattle postions themselves for Germany in this one. Taking a win and a 6-3 record to the next part of the Journey against Brady and company would be great momentum.

I think many of the experts are waiting for Seattle to crash and burn underneath their supportive surface. The good news is the Seahawks aren't writing back.

Don't take the bait. The Rams are still a heck of defense and are no lower than 9th in any siginficant category. The offense, however, is ranked dead last in points. I suspect the culprit is a weak rushing attack where they are dead last averaging 68.4 yards per game. For reference, the Hawks are averaging 130.8 yards per game and that's only tenth in the league. Shocker, it looks like Cam Akers will play this weekend against Tampa Bay. We can cheer their demise, but I wouldn't pen their epitafh too soon.

Here's a article about their lack of QB pressures. It doesn't sound like Donald is done yet.
