I see FG's (John Gilbert et al) is speculating (based on a Rappaport post) that Pete is done, will "retire", that talks on a contract extension did not come to a positive conclusion and he will be leaving. If that is factual (contract talks ended with no extension) that just might explain why some of the players have stopped playing the way Pete wants them to on D, especially.

Reports indicate his contract was only to 2024 with a 1-year Option, which would be a significant change to the contract as stated up to now. But could explain why there were so many players held over last season and this which we all kind of knew were not good enough/problematic/over-paid, as well as the Leonard Williams trade - Pete really could have been pushing hard for the last time! [If this was his best effort, big oof]

Oh Joe, you need 3 from 3 man!

You should have just gone:

- Seahawks miss at least 1 tackle;

- Locket receives then takes a dive before being tackled; and

- Geno overshoots a pass (likely to DK while being double-teamed).

My visions:

- Pete gets so excited after a big play and while running along the sideline he accidentally spits his chewy while fully on camera;

- Spoon makes a crunching tackle on the sideline and accidentally bowls over one of the cheerleaders;

- a Kyler Murray pass gets tipped, deflects of a players helmet and lands in the arms of B Wags.

It’s ok. In my extended vision they exchange numbers and live happily ever after.

Well timed LotR reference as i'm re-watching Rings of Power this week. To make this relevant it's my vision: One Ring To Rule Them All, and it eventually breaks men. Petes pursuit of a second has lead him to the end of the line. It was valiant and he's a legend, however he needs to walk away. His interview around the media this week have been frankly embarassing. The team wasn't fired up right (again)?! He didn't expect the Steelers to run?! etc etc we're stuck in an insane loop. Rregardless of victory and making the playoffs this week, reflecting on the last three-five seasons as a whole it's clear Pete has prety much run out of ideas and for the good of the team we need an injection of fresh leadership.

Also my local cinema showed the LotR trilogy this year so i finally got to see them on a big screen, and just wow! I know the books & films incredibly well, but it still took my breath away to have it all scaled up. Could not be recommended highly enough to anyone that if you get the chance to watch Jacksons magnum-opus in a cinema, you must! (Jackson & LotR, Pete & the LoB - legendary successes, Jackson & Hobbit Trilogy, Pete & whatever-these three years have been - the follies of trying to recreate something unique when you should move on and have new things take over (for LotR thats Rings of Power, for Jackson that's a move to Documentaries, for Pete it needs to be a well earned retirement, for the 'Hawks that's a new HC and direction).

Did you go back to vision boards on Saturdays instead of the last few Fridays to reset the universe and tilt the potential W in our favor?

My vision is no injuries to these guys tomorrow. Let’s play a hard game and get out of this regular season without any major issues so that the playoffs and offseason we don’t have anyone focused on rehabilitation from a major surgery. That way we can dream of 1000 yard seasons and proper tackling until mini camp.

If Geno achieves a 75% completion rate, then DK, Tyler and JSN could be the ones who are going to have a field day. But with the Hawks pass protection looking a little shaky I'm going to lean in favor of some great production by the TE group, who will surprise us with their YAC in an offense that focuses on short passing. I think this will depend upon the wide receivers and K9 spreading out the Cardinals defense. But I'm going to leave it there because I know I know nothing.

I'll add one corollary vision piece. Charbs needs to be the one to punch up the middle and run downhill - not necessarily to get explosive yardage. Rather he can force their LBs into making the bad choice of favoring short pass defense.

I like Joes vision on Ken Walker ... I’m doubling down on a big game from Walker.

And in general, this will be a big offensive performance putting up over 30 points in a win

My vision is that the Cardinals remember THEY ARE THE CARDINALS!

Devon Witherspoon absolutely trucks a Card OT and sacks Murray.

Brooks plays lights out (for a new contract).

And the Hawks win.

I hope that the Return of the KIng is not Return of the King--Lear. "Nothing will come of nothing" indeed!

Ok, time to forget about "Vengence, plague, death, confusion!" and imagine for a minute that the Seahawks beat the Cardinals tomorrow. In that case, the Seahawks have found a way to limit the Cards to under 150 yards rushing, sack Kyler twice (Mafe! Williams!) with two INTs also (Rig! Witherspoon!). And, not for the first time do I say, K9 and Charbs combine for 150 yards on the ground of their own, and 2 TDs.

*You* do! To my ears, that part is over-arranged. I'd go with a Duane Eddy-style guitar line and leave well enough alone. But, that's me. Johnny and June did just fine without my input.

It's the trumpets that made the song so memorable, and were Cash's inspired addition to the song. There is a scene in the bio-Pic Walk the Line about it.

There are good covers, but the "original" will always be the best version for me. (Although the Cash version is actually the 2nd recording, the first recording almost no one knows about was June Carter's sister Anita, and I didn't know that until I looked for a reference for the trumpets for you lol.)

My vision is that Tre Brown's heel settles down and that Jordan Brooks is able to play. If Devin Bush plays, the sixth-best ground game in the league -- the one that rushed for 234 yards against the 49ers -- will go at the Seahawk left hammer-and-tongs, just as Pittsburgh did. In the air, Kyler Murray and Trey McBride will pick on Jackson relentlessly.

Offense...no Abe Lucas and Charles Cross not at full strength...Let's hope that Evan Brown clears concussion protocol.

This is shaping up as a long game, although the idea circulating that Pete Carroll is coaching for his job is off-base. Any coach--I don't care if it's Vince Lombardi--can only do so much when the roster is exposed at two entire position groups.

Thanks! I don't that Brooks is a bad player, and may be pretty good. It wouldn't bother me to bring him back. But to find yourself in a position where he's a cornerstone of the defense...I can think of any number of past Seahawk linebackers who would beat him out as a starter.
