Arizona could be kyptonite for our defensive weaknesses. A force-fed TE and a lot of short passes versus the 89th and 92nd rank on-ball linebacker is scary. Kyler Murray is hard to corral even with a talented and effective pass rush; we have neither. My advice, bet the over.
In the multiverse, there is a reality where the Hawks and Cardinals have completely and identically flip-flopped player and coaching personnel. I prefer the universe in which we live now.
My cartoon image of the Seahawks v. the Cards would be a baffled hen sitting on a heap of eggs. Beastquake II notwithstanding, the ‘Hawks have bombed so often against this team that it’s become impossible to ignore.
I really see Seattle winning this game. It should be high scoring. Our offense is better and our defense is better...and by that I mean theirs is worse.
I'm having a pessimistic season, though not really because I've written the year off. I don't see the Hawks pushing the Cards because our defense is so atrocious. If it were just offense versus offense, I'd favor our guys. Geno's not Mahomes but the Cards' defense isn't San Francisco. It doesn't help that Penny's out. Walker's gonna be great but probably not as a rookie. I agree with Doug that he's got a good chance to rip off some impressive runs that reveal his potential but I suspect he'll run into a lot of walls along the way.
I'm expecting a high scoring game but I see us losing by at least 7; maybe 10 or 14.
I don't know why KW3 couldn't be an all star as a rookie. The people in front of him make blocks, and he's got vision, instincts, and moves. We're five games in to this and he knows by now how fast the big kids move. I worry more about the two rookie tackles making blocks than Walker making cuts.
Very interesting statistics regarding the Cardinals.
My concern is Connors, he is a very strong runner who breaks tackles. If the Seahawks can keep him between the tackles maybe we can slow him down as well.
Naturally Zach Ertz will see the ball a lot, and no doubt they will have him in places where Cody Barton needs to cover him. This is where we miss Jamal Adams. True Adams couldn't catch a cold or a crosstown bus but that is his only weakness. Every safety in the NFL is going to have a higher rate of completions than a good corner. This is mostly because they have other duties and must asses where the biggest threat is coming from. Ertz would catch passes against Adams but his tackles would keep them to a 5 yard average. Somehow Brooks and Barton must come up big.
Question is Woolen playing full time on the right side ? It would be great if he could travel with Brown, but very understandable if that is not part of his repertoire yet.
As far as our offense goes keep doing the same things. I can see DJ Dallas getting about the same number of carries as KW3. If he can average 4 yards a carry that won't be a bad thing. I would like to see KW3 getting 5 or 6 touches in the passing game. It's obvious if you give him some space he can make things happen.
PS if you get the chance watch Richard Sherman's Podcast with Marshawn Lynch it is very entertaining an enlightening
Darrel Williams, Conners' backup is out too. Eno Benjamin, who played at ASU, will be the starter and he has the traits to be a lead back. Who is going to seal off the outside when Arizona is running to their right side? I fear Murray and Benjamin will be scooting around Darrell Taylor at will. Mike Jackson provides strong run support but how many times will Murray force him decide whether to cover or come up? It could be a no-win day for Jackson.
Thanks for the update, I can't say that I am going to miss his presence. He is so tough mentally and physically that it would hurt almost every time one tackled him. I have huge respect for him, and it's a shame we had no room for him when he was available.
This is Walker's first *start* and I expect to see him rip off some long runs vs Arizona.. I actually would not want to be Arizona's DC preparing for this game. The Seahawk's passing offense is the main threat that you would have to plan for, but KW3 is going to cause some worry as well.
As it will be all season though it comes down to the Seahawk's D: can it keep the scoring down enough to allow the Offense to win the game? With a Hopkins-less Arizona team, I believe they can.
It seems to me tht the big runs the Hawks have had this season have mostly come over the right side. It would be interesting to know if the run blocking is better to that side or if it's just a small sample size (or my memory isn't correct).

Tariq Woolen has more interceptions than 10 other teams. He also has more than the rest of the Seahawks.

My only concern with Walker is durability and that really hasn't much to do with him. We have had such bad luck with injuries since Marshawn left

Thank you!
Take a jigsaw puzzle in a box and throw it in the air. What you see is the Hawks.

Updated after the email went out: James Conner is out.

From what I can remember the right side has been more successful. I think both tackles are doing well, this could be a huge win in team building
The idea of a decade of consistent, high level play from both tackle spots leaves me a bit giddy.
I noticed on Penny’s long run right the Seahawks pulled Cross and Gabe (I think) as lead blocks with the right side down blocking.
Walker’s run was off tackle iirc with the line zone blocking.
