Just came back from my peyote fueled vision quest. I pondered the upcoming tilt with the Cards and here’s what I saw.

#1 - 2 TDS for Lockett to go with his 120 yards receiving.

#2 - Darryl Taylor holds the edge on a run.

#3 - ALL the rookie draft choices that play, do so exceptionally well. Another pick for Woolen and another long TD run for Walker.

Yeah, so #2 can be blamed on the peyote. Probably won’t happen.

I also see a good day for the rookies, but will need to get some peyote to confirm.

This is Tyler's 7th season so he has 7 more seasons of equal production to match Largent.

Visions:

Boye, he fast so Mafe will get one of the sacks.

Adams will come up big and get a sack... no not that Adams, Myles Adams.

The tight-end group will surpass 100 yards and get two TDs

The final score will be 38-28... Arizona wins.

Yes, let's see a Myles Adams sack please.

I was with you Dale right until the final score. I am not saying you are wrong, but I would like you to be !!!!

I am late to the vision party (driving all day) BUT I see a 100yd* day for Walker, with 2 TDs.

I will try again to will the D to only two TDs allowed.

Geno keeps his #1 rating with a 2 TD 70%+ completion day.

Absolutely get him the ball going forward with a little bit space. I mentioned this before, a few weeks back, Pete noted that Eskridge had missed so much time last year and better than half of training camp, that he still considered him to be a rookie. Pete's idea is by game 8 he will be fully up to speed in his offensive knowledge. He has been working hard as a blocker, and several teammates have mentioned him helping them make their touchdowns. It takes a lot to get into Seattles receiving trust tree. Think about how many number 3 or 4 receiver who makes 18 catches for the year. If they do start to throw to Dee he could still get to 25 or 30 with a lot of YAK to go along with it.

One key to being a successful Oracle is to keep ones vision's as generic and vague as a fortune cookie.

So, Defense improves (the bar is limbo low so...easy call), the offense plays the same (probably?), and the Hawks win! (refraining from a tendency to shoot themselves in the foot with unerring accuracy).

Or..."Happy travels are in your future." (pack your leitterhuesen?)

Allow me to piggyback on a couple of comments. I am thrilled to see Bruce Irving back in town. He will contribute to our defense probably against the Cards. By all accounts he had a fantastic workout.

Secondly I too was very impressed to see Largent with 13,000 plus receiving yards. A discarded draft pick from Huston, it must be the best trade Seattle has and probably will ever make.

No one wants to see my visions for this game. Not encouraging!

A loss would certainly set a new tone for the Seahawks expectations.

Arizona's defensive stats are a bit confusing. They seem to be doing OK against the pass, but for TEs, and 70 yards rushing is the best output on the ground. My vision board sees us improving on those numbers.

With Penny Hart out due to a hamstring it would be great to see Dareke Young get his first run about. I do wonder if we would get thrown the ball, Eskridge indeed has gotten more snaps but I only remember one pass kind of thrown to him in the last couple of games. I seem to remember he went deep and drew a PI. My second vision is stealing your vision from last week and Eskridge getting 45 yards. My last vision is a number 6 and int beside it.

I would love to see Eskridge get a shallow crosser. Similar idea to the jet sweeps. See what he can do with less players in front of him.

I see Coby Bryant with a sack and an interception. If said sack happens to force a fumble, all the better.

I see Budda Baker intercept a pass at the goal line for what looks to be a 99-yard pick six, but he gets chased down by Ken Walker III.

I see Al Woods and Bruce Irvin become BFFs.

I'll call your vision and raise ya:

Budda intercepts a pass at the goal line for what would look like a 99-yard pick six except for the fact that Woolen runs him down at the Arizona 20, causes a fumble, recovers the ball and runs it back in for a TD, the play is highlighted on sportscenter, goes viral on twitter, Woolen wins POW and gets a date with Budda's girlfriend. (Better still, Kenneth gets a date with Budda's girlfriend -- as long as we're dreaming. I'd take the date myself except my wife wouldn't approve.)

My wife can have a date with Budda Baker for all I care. I'd like a dinner, a couple of drinks, and a conversation with Bruce Irvin.

Having been divorced twice, I've felt that way and can relate. At this point, I'm grateful to be with someone I adore (who adores me back). It's something I experienced just once before but back then I was too young and immature. I felt entitled and didn't protect it and so it got ruined. Then I went for years and years through a bunch of relationships that were alright but not truly great. Sometimes the sex was amazing but that only went so far. I think, having experienced what's possible, I wasn't willing to settle for mediocre. Eventually, magic happened again -- which makes me very lucky. Not everyone gets something like this even once. Now I'm old enough to appreciate it and behave accordingly.

I liked the idea of Woolen running him down at first too, but couldn't figure out how to get him and Budda on the field at the same time. Anything is possible but Ken seemed the more likely option. I'd be happy to take my wife on a double date with Budda and his girlified.

Maybe there is a special teams play where Budda and Woolen mix it up. Budda is a very good player and quick but Woolen was just clocked at 22.9mph, smoken fast

Vision: Back-up Geno Smith with fuddy duddy Pete Carroll as a coach, ends up a higher QB rating in this game than #1 overall pick Kyler Murray playing for Air Raid coach Kliff Kingsbury

Fuddy duddy? If you're referring to his preferred style of play I don't think reality matches your bias.

zezinhom400's avatar

Dude it’s everyone else’s bias not mine.

Just run a continuum of “offensive genius” vs “offensive stick in the mud” amongst most people and I’d bet Carroll would be bottom quartile. In other words, Fuddy Duddy.

Or the whole “Let Russ Cook” thing, even amongst Seattle fans.

Fuddy Duddy 72 yr old Pete Carroll with his Air Monarchs.

Kicking ass with a back up QB passing more than he’s running, and airing out 50-yd ropes

I love it!

I had no idea Steve Largent had over 13,000 yards in his career. That's amazing.

Expand full comment
Dale Roberts's avatar

At one point he was also the NFL career leader in TDs with 100 TDs in 14 season/200 games. The game has moved to the pass so that number has been eclisped. Jerry Rice finished with 200 TDs over 20 seasons/303 games. Largent is now 10th in TDs and 19th in yards. Tony Gonzales, a tight end, is in the top ten in TDs, yards, and receptions. What a weapon.

Bruce Irvan should be a big help with locking down the ends with his experience reading the plays, as well as working into the rotation to keep fresh. Plus passing on his experience to the young rookies....
