The Seattle Seahawks look to extend their win streak against the Arizona Cardinals to 10 games this Sunday in Glendale. It’s a run that started against Kliff Kingsbury in 2022, continued by never losing to Jonathan Gannon, and now it’s Mike LaFleur’s turn to try and cross the low bar of being the best head coach in Cardinals history.
It’s a spot familiar to LaFleur, as he was the passing game coordinator for Kyle Shanahan from 2017-2020 and the offensive coordinator for Sean McVay from 2023-2025. That’s seven combined seasons in the NFC West and 15 games against the Seahawks (record of the teams he was with: 6-9, including the last two losses against Seattle with L.A. last season).
LaFleur is 1-0 as a head coach after the Cardinals beat the Chargers (and one of Mike Macdonald’s “mentors”) 26-14 in Week 1. Jacoby Brissett completed 73% of his passes for 277 yards, a touchdown, no picks, and Arizona won the turnover battle 2-0.

Week 1 Notes
This is the first time that I’ve attempted this series, so I’m expecting the questions to evolve this season. I asked you to pick between a list of names for Offensive and Defensive players of the game, I didn’t give you the option to choose anyone you wanted on the team. That will change in Week 2.
Also, the answer is subjective, in some cases more debatable than others. I think Jaxon Smith-Njigba easily wins OPOG, but DPOG is anyone’s game. Next week I will run a post-game poll and read comments asking for the Seattle players of the game.
Finally, I asked you to suggest changes to the next poll and the most common request was to include questions about the TURNOVER BATTLE. So I’ve replaced predictions for opponent yards with two questions about turnovers and one question about sacks.

I think the Seahawks win a heavily contested game 27-20 or 23-20.
LaFleur is a better coach than Gannon, and looks like he has Cards playing better football.
Finishing last in the Division forever and with high draft picks for many years in a row, the Cards have some talent, they just need coaching to develop it….Maybe Fleury will make the Cards competitive??? But Seahawks still dominate!!
