As noted last week, the Seahawks were looking at new quarterback coaches who had been connected to offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and on Monday the team hired Andrew Janocko to replace Charles London in that role. London has taken that same job with the Jets.
In addition, Kubiak has brought in offensive line coach John Benton to replace Scott Huff, who held that job for only one season.

Benton started coaching college in 1987 but started his NFL career with the Rams in 2003 and he’s been an offensive line coach in the league ever since. He’s had stops with the Texans, Dolphins, Jaguars, 49ers, Jets, and spent last season with Kubiak in New Orleans.
Like Kubiak’s history, whether he chooses to change it up or not, Benton would be very Shanahan-esque in his run blocking schemes.
Janocko was the Saints quarterbacks coach in 2024, so the three will reunite:
Janocko started as a grad assistant at Rutgers in 2011 and then followed head coach Greg Schiano when he was hired by the Bucs in 2012. His next NFL stint was with the Vikings in 2015, which would explain his eventual connection to Kubiak. He was in Minnesota for seven seasons prior to becoming Justin Fields’ quarterbacks coach with the Bears from 2022-2023.
That will no doubt spark some speculation.
Will Seattle’s coaching changes stop here? That’s unclear but these two seem to be the ones that Kubiak had to have the most.

We needed a teacher of professional offensive lineman... seems like that's who KK is bringing with him. A+
I have said here before that I think Huff needed to be replaced at least as much as Grubb. That Kubiak wants his known coaches, and quickly, is fine. Bottom line - are we going to see a better run game, with arguably only a slightly better OL? More misdirection, formations and overall less predictability? Better pass/run balance? I'm hopeful, though much rests on the Geno & DK decisions, and how OL personnel changes.
