The Seattle Seahawks should explore every possible move to improve their roster before the trade deadline in three weeks, and the Indianapolis Colts just did something that makes stars like running back Jonathan Taylor and guard Quenton Nelson look like available options to them immediately.
The Colts fired general manager Chris Ballard on Monday after a 2-4 start and promoted Ed Dodds into an audition for the job starting now. Dodds started working for the Seahawks as a scout in 2007 and moved up the ladder in Seattle over the next decade, serving as John Schneider’s Senior personnel executive from 2015-2016.
Schneider has improved the roster prior to each of the last three NFL trade deadlines. Now a former protégé is calling shots for a team open to a rebuild and they hold they keys to at least two obvious upgrades for an offense suffering due to these weaknesses.
What are the logistics of trades for Taylor, Nelson, and anyone else?
