Bottom line. If Offense protects the ball...the Dark Side will beat the Bears like a rug. The Bears DB's are gonna need trauma therapy after trying to contain JSN. Chalk up another 100 yd game for Jaxon.
Not trying to jinx things, but this has all the hallmarks of a repeat of the Chiefs game. A "hot" offence, but only in very specific circumstances, going up against a defence that excels at disrupting that specific circumstance. If Fleury can again dial up relative simplicity, and Darnold and the RB's only commit turnovers in the opposition redzone, then this will be a done deal.
And if we can do that, we're going to be jumping back up those national media power rankings, and a growing rumble of a wrecking quake brewing in Seattle poised to send shockwaves through the NFL. Win here against "best ever offence" Bears. Knock off the Cardinals for the divisional boost. Frustrate Kubiak. Then revenge on the 49ers. Run through November and all of the "panic" over JS & MM will be long forgotten. Trust the process.
I wonder if we will see more heavy sets with six linemen? There’s been a trend of using three TE sets. Will the Seahawks push that trend to the next level with 6 OL and 2 TE?
And I expect AB to get his hand in the dirt for The Barnyard.
Having AB at the ready might be very valuable before the season ends.
So is moving Zabel going to go better than moving Damien Lewis? He has done really well in Carolina when they put him at his natural position. What is technically Zabels natural position besides LG?
Zabel was mostly a tackle in college, but his arms aren’t as long as you’d want for an NFL tackle. He’s played both sides, so he’s able to mirror. He’s not a single-sider.
One concern is that typically, the RG is more stout than quick. With that lens, Zabel is a better fit at LG, where you want athletic skills. Nelson is both stout and quick. Who’s to say that the right side must be the stout side. With Nelson on the left and Zabel on the right, the Seahawks will see if they can buck tradition and have success.
Lots of great stuff going on with the Hawks, but here are a couple questions: Why has Dante Fowler been invisible with the Seahawks? And why are we not hearing anything about picking up an edge rusher at the trade deadline? While I’d love to see another big move (Maxx Crosby?) I would think that a smaller move like Khalil Mack would pay big dividends.
My only concern is all the changes on offence. Can they get it together and gel as well as we think they will (eventually) in such a short time. As SJ pointed out, they’re essentially a new OL. And the RB’s might take a bit to settle back in.
