Pritchett, not on my radar screen. Supposed to be very good return man and with the new kick-off rules, maybe that's what this is about?

If Bub Means is still there at 207 they gotta take a flyer on him.

He's 6'1" and weighs 212 so as big or bigger than most safeties and CB's hitting him. Has 33 1/4" arms and huge 10 1/8" hands, ran a 4.43 and nearly 40" vertical.

Goddam it -- lost both Cedric Gray LB and Theo Johnson TE. Was hoping for them on Day 3.

Regarding number of DLine, although not what Baltimore ran, but I wonder if we move back to 4-3. Also last year while people said 3-4 it was really a 5-2 as those so called OLBs were only pass rushers. Red Bryant was moved from DT to “DE” in the early PC years and he took half the field away.

I wonder how much this pick was "forced good fortune." I read reports that Seattle tried to trade back after Penix became unavailable. Murphy may be a great addition, but I also imagine what we'd have accomplished with 2 or 3 more picks. We have a full DT room now, and I think I'd have preferred some more pick flexibility. Not upset about the pick, because I believe he can be an impact player.

Really hoping the DUI was a big impact and Sweat drops to 81. That would be a miracle, reunite the Longhorn middle D!

This is a great pick. The only hate I'm seeing for the pick is that we already invested so much into our interior D-line. This is true, but we need to keep Murphy's role in perspective. He's a rookie with a new full time job and a lot to learn. We didn't draft him to be an all pro this year. By the time he's reached his full potential, his supporting cast will look much different. If he's too good right away and takes snaps from Reed and Hankins, then are any of us really upset about that? That's a problem I welcome.

I was hoping we'd be able to draft Verse, and I hate to see the stupid Rams get him, but I'm even more excited to get Murphy. Time will tell.

We now have a Murphy and Levi Bell passion play available for a creative Coach looking at individual strengths to map out strategies not seen before. 2 Low Boys with a combined weight of 600 lbs rocketing at you...

I don’t know how to look up my previous posts but this is the guy I thought we would get.

I agree in thinking he was the top defender on John’s board. I am sure we had offers to trade down because we were basically the second pick in the “defense” draft. And the first is like picking a running back based on predicted career span. We got a great prospect, hope his game transfers well into the NFL.

What a bizarre scenario that was last night. That worked out so well it almost seemed like John rigged the draft

I try not to read too many of the 'draft grades' as they don't mean poo. But, if I was handing out a 'Guy I feel the sorriest for' award today, it would go to Bo Nix. He's going to have Sean Freaking Payton in his ear 24x7, and dude is an arrogant ass. He made it work with Brees, but Brees already had NFL experience before going to NO. Sean Payton with a rookie QB.......yikes. Sorry Bo.

This from yesterdays SSJ article:

"I might choose Byron Murphy II, but I believe he will be a top-10 pick. If Murphy is on the board at 16, maybe he would be the choice."

This is like trading up 6-8 spots without having to give up anything.

Way to go, Joe. You kind of, almost, nailed it again. You're pretty good at this sort of thing.

The Hawks offense was ok last year, but the defense was awful! SSJ made a strong case for them taking a defensive player and then the draft fell perfectly for them. I know from the length of time it took to announce that the pick was in that JS listened to several trade offers. Obviously nothing convinced him to pass on his #1 rated defender. I’m not a talent evaluator, but if he can come close to helping the Hawks the way Donald did the Rams then we’re in for a fun ride.
