Got to say I'm flabber-ghasted (sp) that Pete and John ended up taking a corner that high! Any Corner! That high ,he almost needs to be one of the very best ever ( Top 5) IMHO! I like what they did mostly with the rest of the draft, although I am true believer in having a Top notch Quality leader at Center! Obviously they don't . But it has been proven that with them your O-line is Always better ,more stable! So Now it's find some cap space and sign some guys ( or resign) for the Middle of the DL , I guess????? And I thought the top priority (they kept saying) was fixing the run D????

Locker Room Chemistry - How Important is it to Building Championships?

Having played and being the part of a team that truly sucked as well as a part of exceptional teams, I feel I have Always believed in this component. Silly me...I was late to believe that to Build a Champion, more than talent is needed. Chemistry might be of even greater importance.

This 2023 Draft has proven that PC/JS are making Alpha attitude and Team chemistry their priorities. We can include the 2022 class in that. Whether it was done on purpose in 2010-2012 draft classes, Clearly having - as Marshawn would say - "a Lotta Dawgs" was far more than describing players' talent.

It is a whole lot of fun seeing this team being built in this fashion. Yes, I am a little jealous over not getting any of 'my' Big-dogs (Jalen Carter, Mazy Smith, or Siaki Ika), but I Am very pleased with who we got.

Without the deep insights that PC/JS have access to, I am in No way equipped to judge. Thankfully, that is not my perspective. Mine is one of an appreciator of the Championship Building that is going on.

For those who felt we needed a third-string QB to groom for the future, there will be opportunities next year to select a player who is closer - so no time will be lost. For those who loath taking stellar RBs 'too early', I say in a friendly and respectful way, a team is not going to win Championships without dominating several areas of the game. Running is one of those. High-end talent and depth are needed.

Since we have seen, with regularity, Superbowl Champions having the ability to Dominate in running or passing on any given play, that is the direction I want the Hawks to be moving. With the additions in the last two drafts, can PC/JS's choices be described as anything but building a team that has the ability to be great at both?

Plus, taking 'a QB' because we need a QB is so NY Jets-ish. Making discerning choices is prudent. Making a needless QB choice (for this season) would have eliminated talent from another area. Time will tell if Pete Carroll and John Schneider are right. As for this draft, this locker room, these schemes, these coaches, these evaluators, etc., I am buying in - All In!

So... now what do we talk about?

It looks like the Hawks now an UDFA Coastal Carolina player and a Carolina QB. Maybe next year those two titles will be held by one young man!

Competition produces the best likelihood of future success, but the time given to compete is finite, thus arbitrary and not perfectly predictive.

UDFA season is underway!!

Some of these guys are going to get more guaranteed money than the 7th round draft picks

Olu was a two year starter at Virginia before transferring to Michigan and starting there. A three year starter at twp schools.

CORRECTION: I think he was a 3 year starter at Virginia.

Overall, I'm super happy with this draft, just as I was with last year's. No major reaches, high quality, high energy guys all the way from start to end. Young men who love football, who will be coachable and committed to their own development. Last year, we drafted as well as any team in the league. This year, we'll be right at or near the top again. Phenomenal! Thank God we traded Russ while keeping John and Pete. First time I've said that out loud.

How about Andre Carter II, Navy, DE as an UDFA? I saw him projected in the first round when draft season started.

Kenny McIntosh in the 7th Round? - Good Golly Miss Molly! The dude is a Baller, for real. We all will appreciate how violent he runs. I was thinking he would be a catch in the 4th-round...

So, ahhh - Cool :)

For the first time in years I'm really happy about the Seahawk picks in the draft. I suppose it could be that JS/PC finally came around to my way of thinking, but more likely it's because I've been listening to Seaside Joe.

Oluwatimi prospect ranking is a lot like Hookers. What I mean by that is that it is effected a lot by the scheme he played in. At Michigan his primary responsibility was identifying and delivering double team blocks for the gap heavy scheme that H runs. And he was great at it. Concern is he will be asked to do much more at the Pro level. One of the reasons the scouts like Wisconsin / Iowa centers is those schools ask their centers to do much of the same things required in the NFL so they get a good comparison in the tape. Oluwatimi is average athlete so like Hooker he might have won the Heisman Trophy if he had not gotten hurt Oluwatimi is ranked 5. Good news / bad news. Bad news first Like Hooker might not be able to beat out Lock, Oluwatimi may not be able to beat out Hunt and could easily end up on the practice squad. Good news he also could turn out to be the starting center for the next 10 years. Just don’t know.

This was a really fun three days. In the first round, we got the 2 players available I wanted most! Things got a little dodgy from there though. We drafted a DE and there were at least 5 D line players I was hoping for at the time. We drafted my 4th favorite running back still on the board. Those guys will probably become my favorites, so I'm not complaining.

Plus, I feel like a lot of them were close enough to who I wanted. I wanted Ade Ade and we got Olu Olu, for example. I wanted Byron Young and we got Cameron Young. I wanted Mafi and we got Morris. Okay, that one's a stretch.

On paper Oluwatimi looks better than a “potential rotational center” but obviously I’ve not seen tape

I love how the draft has shaped up for the Seahawks.

As good as last year’s draft was, I think this one could be as good...if not better.

That said, I’m an optimist. I always think the glass is at least 3/4 full.

Well, your right there are no garuntees for a fifth rounder. I just can't figure out how he could win all those awards without being good. Small hand size may be it, if his hands are strong is the point. Coby Bryant went one round earlier and was name best corner in college. I can understand that as he got thrown at a lot. He came to us and started at possibly the toughest position on the field, slot corner. Maybe maybe it happens again. Brown can also play gaurd. I can see a method with our drafts this and last year.
