This is why as a commenter i'm glad i don't have to publicly make predictions, only state what I want to happen as a fan. My loudest "prediction" was that Bijan was going to go very early, and he did at #8. I was also clear in saying the 'Hawks were going to do very little trading, and one fleecing of the Broncos (again) is firmly correct there.

Instead I was far more into highlighting players of interest, and almost all of them were drafted - including some of the more unknowns like Alex Forsyth & Elijah Higgins (drafted as a TE rather than WR, which i also said was expected).

Had mentioned and expected some guys to be drafted that weren't (such as Emil Ekiyor & Jalen Redmond). But it's easy to maintain a positive record when you just don't make predictions :p

Also, thank you for the new Avatar/Profile Picture i'm about to use everywhere!

I really enjoyed reading all your articles about the draft, and especially the humility and fun you brought to it all. Thank you!

Thanks Kenneth. I find most of your articles to be very interesting. They are not the same old rehashed information again and again that becomes boring fairly quickly and that I begin to ignore after a while. You make me think and look at Seahawk things from a different angle. Again, many thanks.

I was wrong about Will Levis, several times.

I've only read the first few lines of todays article so I might be way off base here but one of the many things I like about the oldest coach in the known universe is that he continues to learn, adapt, change and seems to always stay on top of things all while staying true to his core philosophy of winning forever. When I finish reading the article I'll edit the post to admit I was wrong it Joe convinces me I was but I don't currently think that's going to happen. See ya in 15 minutes or so.

Who cares about anything else. You were the first on Witherspoon that I read and it seemed after you wrote your piece I started to see others mention him as well.

When we got him I immediately thought of you sitting in front of the TV doing a fist pump. Love that pick. I went straight on here and was the first to comment. You nailed that one for sure

I was hoping for Carter but mostly because of the desire for a dominant interior dl player. I am fully comfortable with the idea that Carter had three chances to wow Seattle and never did, so they moved on...and so have I to Witherspoon.

I was wrong about Carter--I thought if JCPS had the opportunity to select him they absolutely would, but I guess he failed the interview at VMAC (and by "failed" I mean "failed to impress Pete and John that he would step up and be the dominant DT he can be). I am happy to be wrong if they had that opportunity and passed it up to take a player they really wanted and believed would be a difference-maker in Witherspoon. I confess I also did not think the Seahawks under Pete would *ever* draft a CB that high. It makes me really excited to see how he mixes into the Seahawks D now--there is clearly the potential for an "elite" secondary featuring two lock-down corners.

I was also wrong that I would not be able to get a bit of time in this past weekend to catch up and comment on the draft as it unfolded. It was a good weekend--words were said, tears were shed, and my Mom's memory was deeply shared.

I had more fun and was more knowledgeable about this year’s draft than ever before due to Ken and all of the other Joe’s thoughtful comments. Thanks to you all.

I’m very excited to see how things work out in the next couple of seasons.

Hope you're right about Witherspoon? But I still can't believe they drafted a CB that high! Any Corner! Now I guess it's find cap space to sign or resign some DL middle guys. Since stopping the run was their top priority! Most of this draft was very good -always going to be some different players that guy likes better than this guy. But The Corner and not getting a top notch Center baffles me. Oh Well, GO HAWKS !

I am 100% grateful we can talk about Devon Witherspoon too. Great pick, great fit, great person. #letsboom

Carter came down to surviving the Hawks’ vetting process. (I bet they were more worried about another Aaron Curry than Malik McDowell.) Once they ruled out Carter, they were pretty much looking at Wilson or one of the cornerbacks. Wilson could take years to develop, whereas Witherspoon and Gonzalez are ready to contribute immediately. The traits gang would go for Gonzalez, but SSJ made a great case that Witherspoon’s game easily trumped Gonzalez’ traits.

Re Tippmann, the Hawks were interested enough to ask Steve Hutchinson to take look. Hutchinson could very well have come back and said “Meh. He’s no Robbie Tobeck. Don’t bother.”

I, personally, don't care where you were wrong or right. After all, you had said this whole draft season that it wasn't your focus to try and be right. I know I have learned more about our team (players, coaches, and front office) from reading SSJ over the past month since signing up, and I am sure that if I kept reading nothing but other writers out there, only, then I would have been just mindlessly jamming valueless opinons on unimportant topics just because they had the word "Seahawks" in the article somewhere. So, thanks again for trying to stay out of the box they live in and focusing on the journey toward the draft and focusing on the right aspect of team coverage... to make me have fun and be a better fan.

The Colts needed a QB now, not 2 to 3 ( if ever) years from now!

“....the Seahawks also went far outside of Pete Carroll’s comfort zone....”

Good luck with next years draft predictions Joe 😁.
