I was a bit annoyed at first hearing about the news. I have tickets and live across state, so had to reschedule a rental car, reschedule hotel, and reschedule My days off work. However, now that the dust has settle, im actually pretty excited. And ended up saving money on the car and hotel!
We'll be back from a short trip and away from 49er fans to watch (family from Bay Area) the Monday Night game at home. What an iteresting game if Seattle actually won in Dallas and SF in prior weeks.
Seattle does get a 10 day mini bye after tonight to get people healthy before the SF game. In the menatime SF is coming off a East coast visit and a very physical game in Philly. Philly has to turn around and fly across the country to play Seattle on West coast time the following week. Both situations could offer small cosmic advantages for the Seahawks.
Either "the fix is in" and the NFL will be scheming to have the Seahawks win its next two games to showcase a NFC SHOWDOWN, or the producers just like going to Pike Place Market to film the throwing of fish.
I like this flex change bcz it puts Seattle in the record books (first MNF flex ever...I'll take what I can get). Also I believe the Seahawks still own the record for most prime time wins (not sure about that and too lazy to look it up). Finally, prime time games on Sunday, Monday and Thursdays just seem to be more fun/wild/unpredictable. I hope the Hawks shock the world tonight...but won't lose sleep if they don't.
I'm "whelmed" at best. On one hand, I think the Eagles are beatable and this is a team that can still turn it around and play a lot better than they have been (since about week 2). On the other, I'm skeptical that we have a squad capable of going very far in the playoffs and there's little to be gained from another wildcard exit. And such a strategy doesn't lend to changing things that seem to need changing and just hurts draft positioning. Hopefully I'll feel differently after tonight's game.
Honestly I don't care when or where they play...I only care that the hawks are again competitive with the leagues better teams. If they can't do that, they'll lose 3 or the next 4 and this season is over.
Well thank God I cancelled my plans to fly in for the game and sell my tickets BEFORE they decided this!

GO Hawks
MNF in person is an awful lot of fun. The vibe is wonderful.

This is news to me. Good news, I guess. The Seahawks tend to win on Monday Night Football, though I don't believe it will change our fate.
