Seahawks fan confidence poll: Will Seattle get the #1 seed?
Get in here and vote!
The Seahawks are staring down the most importance four-week stretch that the franchise has faced in a decade, and they’re only one win over Philip Rivers away from making that a three-week stretch. How confident are you as a Seahawks fan that Seattle will get the job done this month and do what they have to do to win the NFC West and secure the number one seed?
I created 5 poll questions related to that stretch and I’ll post your results on Saturday.
Week 15: Seriously, Colts?
Are the Colts really gonna do this? Reports keep pointing to Rivers starting against the Seahawks on Sunday, which is what I’ve been saying I would expect to happen as soon as Indianapolis signed him because he serves no other purpose on the team as a player.
I could still see Riley Leonard starting the game but if he has one bad series then Shane Steichen is going to make a change. It’s the Seahawks defense so we should expect Leonard to be pulled at some point. How confident are you going into this Week 15 game against the Colts?
First 8 games: Colts were the highest scoring team in the NFL.
Last 6 games: Colts are 18th in scoring and 1-5.
And those struggles came with Daniel Jones. What’s going to happen with Leonard and Rivers? Right tackle Braden Smith isn’t practicing, nor is Sauce Gardner, and Charvarius Ward just went on IR.
It’s not looking good for the Colts, but in the NFL you do have to treat every team like they could win the Super Bowl on their best day.
Speaking of teams that could win the Super Bowl
The Rams and the Seahawks are the two best teams in the NFC, probably the two best teams in the NFL, and the highest-scoring teams in the league over the last nine games. But facing each other, the score was 21-19.
The rematch is less than a week away so how confident are you feeling?
The Rams have a lot on their plate this week with hosting the Lions on Sunday and then going on the road to play in Seattle on Thursday.
A franchise record?
The Seahawks have never won 14 games before — obviously the extra game helps — and this is their final four schedule: vs Colts, vs Rams (TNF), at Panthers, at 49ers.
How confident are you that Seattle will win all of those games?
It doesn’t seem like a cake walk, but the Seahawks could reasonably be favored in all of those games …with a caveat.
There’s an outside shot that Seattle will clinch the 1-seed before Week 18, meaning that Mike Macdonald probably sits his starters against the 49ers. So if the Seahawks win their next three games, it makes it very unlikely that Seattle would even try to win the fourth. And the 49ers almost certainly do need to win that game. Hmm.
What do you think the chances are to win the next three?
The bye week is undefeated
Winning a playoff game is a special thing. I bet some people reading this could recall every single playoff win in franchise history. (That’s 17 games.)
How is a bye week any different than a playoff win? The only difference is that instead of getting injured, you get healthier. And when you return, you are at home. How confident are you that the Seahawks will get the #1 seed for the fourth time in franchise history?
How much does your playoff confidence change if the Seahawks are a 1-seed vs a wild card?
Confidence in Jason Myers if he needs a 60-yard game winner?
I had this thought on Friday:
Myers would be the NFL’s best kicker right now…if he had made that kick against the Rams. Just imagine the narrative around Myers if in addition to his league-leading stats (most FG made, most extra points made without a miss) he had also beaten a top-3 team with a 61-yard try.
Factually, Myers’ distance ability is his only weakness. I know he made a 57-yarder. That’s actually just normal now. 19 kickers have made at least one 57 or longer-yard kick this season. With the Rams coming up again it begs the question, would you let Jason Myers try that kick again to win the game?

I'm actually a little down on the Hawks this year... before the season began I thought they'd go 15-2. This 14-3 talk is a little disappointing.
In recent years, I’ve looked at closing stretches and hoped that the Hawks could maybe get a split and sneak into the playoffs or at least finish with a respectable record. This year, I see an opportunity to close the season on a run that leaves the team supremely confident heading into the postseason and that will make the other teams fear them.
